Tenzo Rally Type

My Previous Post

Basically..I have had them now since March...and they are awesome. No signs of wear and tear and they make a world of difference.

I had to make my own brackets to accomodate them.

There are some photos:

enjoy.

Yeah I got the Corbeau CR1 seats in my P5. I like them a lot better than all of the cheaper seats they feel a lot more comfortable and they hold you in good. Click the www button on the bottom of the post it will take you to my site and you can see them there

blackp5ca-

Do those seats have sliders or do they still use the factory sliders? and do they sit higher/lower/ the same as the stock seats?

They look nice btw.

Thanks,
James T

ive got the tenzo r rally types and i like em more than the stock seats, very comfortable...i also just put in 5" accele vision monitors in em and look sweet, will have pics soon...i got the rails from mmrusa.com...fitment was alright...

Hey "TheWrench", THey came with sliders (Universal) and I mounted them on the stock protege rails..they were stock height but I lowered them down a bit. If you look in my phot album again you'll see a quick and dirty 3-d diagram of what I did..kinda rough but you get the idea.

tenzo seats

I have the tenzo seats. I love them, they r comfortable and hold me pretty good. the only thing i dont like about them is the fabric is thin.

must.. save money... for adjustable sparco torinos.. black with grey.. ::falls and dies:: uGHhH*

if you get the rails made for our car..then doing it yourself is very do-able..... one pointer...take it nice and slow when taking out your seats and putting the new ones in...it is VERY easy to scratch the various parts of your interior.

If you need to fabricate it is a bit harder and you will need to have some things welded.

visit TOProtege.com, one of our members did a very goo HOW-TO.

I just mounted up my Recaro SRD tonight (from On -Track performance.) Love it! I had one in my 4th gen Civic Si years ago, so I know all about the feeling of beeing really secure in the seat. :D Nothing like it...

The only problem, again, is the Wedge Industries mounting bracket. I could only get 3 of the 4 mounting holes to align with the holes in the floorpan. I had this same situation on the Civic bracket as well. They did make me a new one that fit, but it took forever to ship. I've emailed Mark (On-Track) already, so hopefully I can get this resolved quickly.

Pics tomorrow! ;)

Jim

PS - Everything shipped was $648.00. This included genuine Recaro sliders, and the Wedge Industries mounting bracket. The seat alone was on sale for $450.00.

Installation is fairly easy if you're carefull (it's very easy to scratch the interior while removing the old seat & rails, and installing the new one as well.) Other than that, it's plug-n-play.

4 way adjustement. forward / backward, and recline (fore and aft.) I did this more for "driver confidence" rather than all out comfort & adjustability. I've used Recaro SRD's in the past, and don't regret getting this one at all.

HTH - Jim

Edit: Good call UPSman. The Recaro SRD has the same features as you state below. Quick forward tilt release, and recline adjustment to the millimeter.

Recaro SRD - good for big talls guys?

Mackdaddy,
Do you know if the SRDs are comfortable for "bigger" guys? I am 6'2", 200 pounds and would like to order an SRD but read that they are not the most comfortable for people over 5'11" and 200 pounds? Since I'd be ordering from on-track like you did (with a no return policy), I want to be sure before I order.

Also, thanks a ton for your posts on these, esp. the photos! You are the first one I've seen with these in a Protege and the reference to on-track's special is awesome! Thanks again.

Greg
