Any photographers in here?

When my future wife pops out our first kid, it will be time to think about studio lighting... other than that, I'm not too worried about it.

LOL..I love how you LOVE that 50mm man. Haha. It's good. I remember you asking all of us what to get before.
nifty fifty > *
I can't even say why, but I enjoy shooting that lens SO much more than the 18-55. I think its the lower f stop.. but that means I'm going to end up spending a s*** ton on glass at some point, so I don't want to admit it!
And the ebay radio triggers are pretty cheap to get. Even the AlienBee Cybersync triggers are cheap compared to pocket wizards.

www.alienbees.com (for triggers)
www.flashzebra.com (to find more accessories)

eventually something I need to get into.. bah... mo monay!

I use my 18-55 way more than my 50. to each his own, I guess.

lol I like to go exploring at lunch time now. There are a lot of cool little places to sneak into around here! I also snapped this:

I don't know how people take street photos. I was shooting from the hip, terrified that they would hear my shutter clicking.

Creeper!

I need to keep my spare USB cable with me in my bag. I have GIMP on this computer, but no way of getting the pics I take during the day off my camera. Got some good ones today (I think). I need to clean my sensor though. :(

I felt like a creeper!

I have my card reader at work since I only have an HP netbook as a PC right now... I do all my downloading and editing at work shhh don't tell anyone.

Street photo is like taking candids or asking the subject to do whatever it was they did to get your attention again. Like sit and watch for a while...pick a good spot to "camp" and watch for a while. Take in your surroundings, then go take pics. You can ask people to repeat what they are doing, or you can be a creeper, or you can take structural photos, architecture, etc etc.

Yeah there are plenty of places to do stuff like that around here, I just was in a hurry to get back to work and I had the 50mm on the camera so I set it up for continuous, ai servo, and let fly when I passed something that looked interesting.

*jumps and claps*

(that was for you funky)

I like the longer shots as long as the distance is disguised. Otherwise they look even more creeper-ish than the close ones, and I feel totally unemotional about a photo that is supposed to evoke emotion.
