Any photographers in here?

I've been debating between the Canon 85 1.8 and the 100 2.8 macro. It's been over a year since I've bought a lens but I've been doing more indoor shots where the 70 200 2.8L IS and min. focusing distance is too great. The 50 1.8 has been getting more use but the AF system is poor and I get excessive vignetting wide open.

i agree... the AF sucks and the vignetting is a bit of a bummer. i love the 50 though, it is super sharp at higher f-stops, i just wish the AF was a little better at closer range.

the 50 1.4 fixes those two issues. It's a good bargain at $300 used.

gr get all 3 I have the 50 1.4 , 85 1.8 & the 100 2.8 macro

If you have to choose between them I would get the 100 macro if you don't have one already its a really nice lens, the hood for it is the best I have seen on any lens other than the L prime's.

I have a budget set aside each month for car/camera stuff so I stick to it, or try to. lol I recently bought a Flyin Miata downpipe and catback, so it's going to be camera gear for the next few months. I'll probably go with the 100 2.8 macro first.

works good for people as well and whats scotland without bagpipes !!! I love the sound of bagpipes so I went to a little festival they were having at a historic castle, I was not leaving scotland until I got pics of someone playing the bagpipes

this pic is from the cheap little canon 135mm 2.8 soft focus lens, its pretty darn sharp for the 250 buck range and super light
