Any photographers in here?

Chris...A-10 is by far my favorite too. Obviously I've never seen it fire in person but just watching it on video makes me glad it's on OUR side.

For those who don't know, this beast fires 30mm rounds up to 70 rounds per second.

If it's far enough away when it fires you hear the bullets hitting before you hear the cannon fire. What a person on the ground experiences is a crazy hailstorm of bullets and then what sounds like the plane roaring...sends a frigging chill down your spine.

Thanks all!

We did get to hear it. I've heard them through video but never in person. Dayuuum that was crazy!

Few more from the air.

Been wanting to get this shot for a while. I'd call it "The last thing Osama sees!"

You're making me proud Josh! Looks like you did well with the prop/rotor blur BTW. How many blurry shots did you get from the day lol?

Thanks bro, your advice was on the money. It was a really tough day to shoot. Between the hot temps, humidity, heat vapors, and the sky constantly changing weather patterns, I was fumbling through camera settings all day. So I'd say about 25% of the shots are blurry or grainy due to high ISO. I quickly learned what settings worked best. Those shots above received a little PP of course. ;)

However I have hundreds and hundreds of fantastic shots. Very happy with the final results.

I just saw this thing at the airport... maybe one of you guys knows what the heck it is? I couldn't get close enough to get tail numbers, and the heat waves from the tarmac were not making things easy on me.

Antonov An-124 Ruslan... Bigger than a C-5 Galaxy. Built in Russia. If you can see it take off, its totally worth it, very rare and a HELL of a sight to behold!

EDIT: Found 2 pics I took about 6 years ago with my crappy old PnS, before I really knew how to take pics of airplanes:

Departing BWI when I worked on the ramp as a refueller... Was badass!

dude the thing is HUGE. My buddy works on the ramp. I sent him a text asking what it was, but I got tired of waiting. I knew one of you would know!

no, you can't read the numbers on either photo... but unless they all have the exact same paint scheme and markings, I'm guessing it's the same plane... I might be wrong.

this is the antonov loading a blackhawk helicopter into the fuselage. It was taken by my buddy who works at the airport. Kind of gives you a scale of how big the plane is. He told me they're putting 37,100 gallons of fuel in it today and it's carrying 2 blackhawks somewhere. Tail number is RA82078.
