Any custom hood vents out there?

Its been a long time since I started the thread but I finally have the two things I needed to make this happen - a spare hood and a plan. Here's the basic layout. Edges will be custom louvered panels and the center will be vents with mesh grills. Obviously it will get refined as I work on the spare hood.

There are only cuts in the center. The outer edges will be painted louvers - I made them black to show where they'll be. I'm open to suggestions, but the hard ridge down the center of the hood means that I can't do just one centered vent without reshaping the entire hood skin. I went with the pattern I did because it best follows bracing on the inside.

It'll be a lot more work and cost more, but I've also kicked around doing all louvers. Here's the rough gimp of that...

The problem is that the center section is where I really need it to be. I want air moving through the radiator to have a place to go. I just added the edges in an attempt to balance the hood.

My wife likes the louvers, I don't totally love either but haven't come up with anything I like better... I think my big problem is that I'm starting to get the bug for a different car again. Its not that I want to sell the msp so much as a I really want a bigger truck and a roadster. If I have both of those I won't have much use for the msp. I found a local guy selling a 1963 triumph tr4 and I would love to drop a 13B in it, and then get it looking something like this (Substitute a roll bar for the hard top!)
