Anti-glare film on gauges?

I have a Defi boost gauge in a vent pod, and unfortunately due to the angle of the pod, at times during the day, when the light is right, the entire face will be washed out from glare. Good thing the needle is still visible and I remember the position of the readings, but I want a more permanent solution. Anyone apply an anti-glare film to the plastic lens on a gauge, like the material used for monitors and phones?

I might just get the Defi 60mm visor and make it fit along the ID of the vent pod.

Ah, I'm not really familiar with the options out there either. I like the idea though. That visor will just look out of place IMO.

there are these anti-glare film covers for the iphone that they sell at the apple store. idk how big the gauge is but im sure u can cover it with a combo of one or two screen protectors. i think its like $15 for a set of 2 or 3 covers.. or u can ebay "iphone anti glare screen protectors" and they would be like a dollar or something on there lol

I have anti-glare film that works on my iphone.. it would be big enough to cut and place over the gauge. Might start and look at cellphone anti-glare films, some are cut yourself and some aren't but the iphone 3gs' screen is atleast 52mm i believe.

If it has a smooth face with no buttons or shafts sticking out, you might consider going to a photography store and buying a generic polarizing lens filter. They come in different diameters and are designed to block out reflections. You fit them on and rotate them to whatever position is most effective at killing the glare.

What about a small strip of tint? Or like smoked vinyl?

you should be able to find a 52mm or 60mm or whatever size you need, and it is pretty cheap for a generic one

Keep the ideas coming. I looked into a 52mm camera lens, wasn't sure how I could mount it. Below is a pic of my boost gauge. I can remove the black ring around the edge, but underneath, the lens is inset inside another silver ring. Rather not have to dismantle the entire gauge just to do this, was hoping just to cut out a 52mm circle of tint and apply it to the face.

As fore mentioned, tint is the way to go. Cheap and easy.

Haven't tackled it just yet. Less daylight soon, so this isn't as big an issue for me during the winter.

if tinting front windows would be finally allowed in IL - that wont be an issue for me too.

I have 20% on my fronts and it's still an issue at times, which is why I wonder if tinting the gauge face would even work.
