Another source for stubby antenna

Good pics, especially the close-up showing what appears to be a perfect match. I wonder if there is going to be a rush of 3 owners banging down the doors of Acura dealers to get one.

Big props to the dealer for taking one off a car for you.

Once news gets out to more Protege people I'm sure there will be some calls made to acura dealerships as well. Fitment on that is 10x better than my S2000 antenna! Nice find

Yeah, too bad its not my dealer!!!
It is a 100% fit, and you can't go wrong with OEM parts!

I am sure that Acura will make lots of sales to 3 owners, once the word gets around!

For those who want a shark fin antenna. There is a GROUP BUY GOING ON RIGHT NOW. IT ENDS DECEMBER 4TH. Go and do a search @ yahoo for vg shark fin group buy. It should be the 5th one down.

Why get a stubby when a sharkfin looks so much better IMHO....

Well, not everybody likes the look of the sharkfin, looks too small and out of proportion to me...

In addition to that...

Stubby: unscrew factory mast, install other one

Sharkfin: Remove entire headliner inside of car to access underside of antenna base, remove, hope the new one fits the right countour... need I go on?

The fact that the MSP had an integrated antenna (something usually found on much more expensive cars)...

LoL... yeah, that's why my 1980 Chevy pickup (and pretty much every Chevy between 1973 and 199?) has them. :D

I think integrated antennae are all about cosmetics. I can't imagine it costs any more or less than an external one.

If anybody is interested, the part number for the RDX antenna mast is 39151-STK-A01 and it, unfortunately, doesn't correspond to any Honda parts.

Price at my nearest dealer is $7.98 +tax and it would take "a couple days" to get.

Thanks for that! It's cheaper than the S2000 antenna :)

Just went and got mine!

Got the same deal as MM3Canuck. I ordered one and the parts guy went and took one off a new car for me. (2thumbs)

Bonus: I work for Visteon, so the guy even gave me a discount! $6.38 out the door! (cabpatch)

I'm getting in on these. Only around 8 bucks from my local Acura dealer and thats cheap.

You guys got a nice deal. But I guess it is in US currency, and car parts always seem to be cheaper in the US.

Goldwing2000 -> Glad to hear that you received the same customer service!!!

The stubby was my fastest/easiest mod ever! Plus, for so little money spend, the car looks so much better.

I wasn't even going for looks, really. My stock antenna got busted in a car wash, so I was just looking for something more durable.

Cheap, stylish and available were bonuses. (thumb)

Ahhh...you could have had my OEM antenna!! ;)

goldwing2000, in your list of accessories it says "rear bumper step plates ", what are those? Any pics?

Yep, that's them. Thanks, Kansei.

I didn't want another factory style antenna. If it broke once, it'll break again!

Ooh, I love the sharkfin antenna but the stubby is much less expensive.

Sry for the threadjack but on eBay I see that there are Shark Fin antennas made by MTEC that are going for $12 USD + shipping. However they only sell them in 3 colours and don't seem to do any paint matching. They seem cheap to me. Anybody know anything about these?

I saw those too on EBAY, but I just dont know much more than that!! Just looked at them and decided that I did not like them!

Search the Threads, I think I have seen a thread about the sharkfins somewhere on here.

Good luck!
