Another p0106 question

I'm about ready to pay the mechanic, but thought I'd give your large brains a try first. I've owned this 01 protege lx for three weeks and still am trying to solve the p0106 mystery. Here's what I've done: Removed EGR and cleaned, wasn't really that dirty. Found nipple and lines to the EGR boost sensor (MAP sensor?) tube clogged, and cleaned them out. Reset the code, but think it will come back since car runs the same, still idling a little rough. Can the MAP sensor be cleaned out? I found it clogged with a chunk of carbon while cleaning the lines and blew it out with the compressor? Should I check and clean the MAF? I'm not sure where it is.
Sprayed around looking for vacuum leaks and found none. When I cleaned the EGR, should I have opened up the intake and made sure there was a clear path down to the EGR valve on the inside of the manifold?
Any advice is appreciated, I'm not a mechanic, but usually can figure stuff out, but I don't want to start throwing $200 parts at it.
thanks in advance.

Thanks to all

After I posted this and read everyone's info for a couple more hours, I got brave and think I solved it!
It took me three tries. First I cleaned the EGR---easy
then I cleaned the lines to the MAP sensor---nasty, lines were ttoally clogged.
Lastly I opened the intake, removed the part with the butterfly valve and found the port down to the EGR totally clogged, and the EGR was plugging up again.
After I got everything cleaned again and reset the code....so far so good.
Thank-you all for all your info and posts, collectively, I think I solved the P0106 mystery.
