So I drove by the local Mazda dealer to see a spicy OJ colour sitting front and centre. They said that they got an email a day or so ago ago telling them they would have a yellow and a grey in 2 weeks.
When the grey one comes in, it is test drive time for me. They haven't pre sold any and we talked a little about price too. That OJ grows on me a little more whenever I see it. It is nice and distinctive.
Anyway I sat in and turned it over, bummer there is no boost gauge but the interior isn't as bad as some say and the seats are nice and firm but could use a little more side bolster. Do any of you find the shifter REALLY short! It seemed to short but maybe a test drive would work that out.

well coming from a volvo i thought it was REALLY short, but i got used to it in less than a day, and now think it could be even shorter

I doubt it. My dealer only called about almost two weeks ago, and they hadn't even started on the 2003.5's yet. Apparantly the orange ones are just sitting there waiting to be ordered. And the 2003.5's won't move until their gone now he'wasn't talking to our usual source but it sounded true.

I gotta get this confirmed...

As for the shifter... yup, it's very small. I found it strange at first as well. Drive it a bit, and that goes away some. But, it is small. the 2003.5's have a thicker shifter on it, so I'm hoping it's not as bad.

Yeah , it sounded early to me too, but they were one of the first to get one in Canada, & there is one on the lot right now (not pre sold) so ya never know. Maybe they are going try and deliver a few to actually make people believe they exist.

Hey buster, did you get to test drive the orange one? Have you seen my in the city yet? I still have yet to go to a RS meet. I've always considered it though, but I just don't know anyone there so I end up not going. I drove by the dealership yesterday and the car said sold on it. Guess I'm not the only one the city anymore with the car.

GYRO, good to see ya! I figured it would go quick although the sales guy mentioned some really old guy, no offence AGR , was VERY interested.
No it had 85km's on it and they wanted to keep them under 100km's but he told me to call in 10 days to 2 weeks and I could test drive a grey one. I have seen you around a few times. We usually meet up at Tim Horton's by Town and Country @ 10 on Friday's but there is a much more mature and fun bunch of us that meet up around 8:30-9 @ Starbucks @ Broadmead. Ian is there also, white 91 Integra/red Nissan 240, he said he talked to you before. My cell # is 7449560 so give me a shout on Friday after 6pm and I should have details...actually if you call tonight I should know what is up for Friday.

I'll try to snap a pic on the weekend if I can. I live close to it. I was by there the other night and there looked to be maybe 20 or so Orange ones still there.
