Another MSP lost to an accident...

Know the capabilities and limitations of your equipment as well as your own personal ones. These capabilities and limitations change as circumstances around you change. Drive accordingly.

Glad I wasn't meeting you on that road. If you couldn't see the water, then you wouldn't have seen me either.

I'm glad that you and your brother are well.

Somebody's relieved that the car is gone. Somebody else who goes to insure a MSP will find his insurance rate an increment higher because this incident is in some insurance company database.

I have seens many wrecks of mazdas posted on the forum, This is probably the 3rd worst. It is amazing yyou made it out. best of luck with your next ride!

Well I wasnt doing 75. So either you cant read, or just plain retarted. This is a road with a 55mph speed limit. So I technically wasnt speeding. And IF the road was wet then yes I would have slowed down. That was the problem...there was no signs of the impending weather. Living on the top of a mountain gives to sudden weather changes. I had came up that same mountain road 3 hours previous to the accident and it was dry as a bone. So yeah...thanks to everyone who says I was going too fast. And its the ignorant like yourself blaster that should be taken out back an shot to make sure reproduction isnt possible. I was doing the speed limit. I was driving as I had down that mountain god knows how many times. I traverse that road 3 times a day. Through snow, hail, rain, shine...everything. If I saw the road wet, which I do slow down for. I know its a dangerous road. Those truck ramps for semi's that lose control on the side every mile kinda remind me of that everyday. Even the eye doctor I went to the next week to get new glasses says he has seen it happen to often to normal drivers for the past 30 years.

Oh and I've hydroplaned in the kind of rain that happnened that day doing 45mph..so even If I was doing 5mph less than the speed limit, I would have been in the same siutation, but less damaged. If you people have never been in the kind of rain I went through, then talk to me about not seeing it or going to fast when there was no warning, then dont open your mouths. And dont think , not even for a second, that I think its ok to speed with my family in the car. I dont. Never. I lived in NY and watched morons with family whiz around me all day long like its the goddamn Indy 500. Ive seen friends killed because of those morons. So ask or take a second and think before spilling that crap out. The first thing I thought of when I realized what was happaning was him. When we finished rolling, in all the pain I was in, an barely able to breathe since I brusied a lung, I was still making sure I was trying to help him the best I can and making sure he was ok while saying "I'm so sorry" to him. So blow me buddy.

And bash on Hondas. Knock yourself out. Just in you blantent ignorance of that obvious anti-Honda statement, realize that w/out Hondas contribution to the import world of compacts, you may not have the ride you do today. I guess for people like you who realize nothing, and dont care to do so, ignorance must be sweet bliss...

Oh and the 93 Si that my uncle is so gracious enough to let me pay off while working for him would be able to mop your car up in any Autocross event. So bash away.

Tommy go away. You really are annoying. Go to school and get educated. Driving school at that. Done with you my friend. Say hi to your uncle for me as well. (poke)

well, regardless of what I think about the reasons. I am glad you and your brother somehow by the grace of God actually survived that crash. I am truly amazed that you guys sustained as few injuries as you did. The car car be replaced. Learn from what happened. This is not a statement bashing your driving skills or how it happened, but might I suggest in the future if you signed you and your brother up for a drivers skill course to learn how to avoid being in this situation, coinsidering you live in an area that road surfaces change as often as you say. It would just be an investment that may pay off in the long run.

Im not the ass starting fights with people who have been through a bad time in life. But since you only have negative things to say, and brining nothing contributive to the table you might wanna look at yourself before throwin crap around.

Oh and I have looked into driving schools before the accident, but they were far to expensive for me to have gone at the time. I do plan on going to one, but not for a bit. My body still needs time since when I try and push it and do more than I can physically handle, it lets me know big time. I have relocated to DC and since I was supposed to have left the day after the accident, plan to stay here for a bit an follow through on the plan I had before the accident. Thanks to those who cared, and to those who say slow down yes I know and when I do go back I will pay more attention to my enviornment and drive accordingly. This was my first major accident. Been driving for 6 years, between PA and Long Island NY and it took this long. But we all have to expirence an accident sometime. Just wish it didnt have to take my MSP.

On a side note I do have plans to buy one. I have been in contact with my local Mazdaspeed dealer and he is looking for another one for me now. Hes a cool guy, ran an AutoX event with me. He knows I want another Spicy Orange one so hopefully in a few months, I can get back into the saddle. But more carefully this time...

Wow. I have seen over 10 crashes in the last 3 weeks. 3 of those within minutes of happening. I have to say this. Way too many stupid people driving on the roads. I am glad you are alright and you should consider yourself very lucky that you didn't kill your brother. People who can't drive just irritate the s*** out of me and seeing it everyday bugs me. I saw a pick-up truck today passing a bus when they were stopped at a railroad crossing.

This Truck thing actually happened where I live. He tried to run through the crossing. He is now deceased.
