Another CURED smoking turbo~

weird, cause my smoke is white and thick, and smells like burnt oil ! OMG ! Maybe it could be oil !!?!?!?

yeah I do see the difference and I see the bluish hint. I had my father come outside this morning and look at mine and he revved the exhaust and condensation/water was coming out of the tail pipe and the steam/smoke was coming off that, so its definately not oil. and it does not stink at all.

My car smoked before i swapped turbos. I tried thicker oil and it did squat. Many habe installwd catch cans with luck. AGP sell an awesome one listed under the parts for the srt caliber. I havent heard of anyone acyually fixing their smoke issue with a simple oil change.

I have had the catted TBE from cpe on for about 3k miles and no smoke as of yet. I also have an early build 2007.

smoke im back to stock that way i dont have to see it anymore. ill rebuild my turbo sometime this winter. at which point ill install the header and DP as well.

well im waiting to get a bonus check that way i can get the kit and get some pipes ceramic coated...

do you understand what 5-40 and 10-40 means?
5 is the weight when the oil is cold...40 is the weight when the oil is warm.
5-40 and 10-40 will behave the same way once the car is warm.
also, white smoke is not the turbo...blue smoke is the turbo [seals]
some people have had success with installing a catch can, yes...to catch the oil...which would make the smoke blue.
this is my understanding of the matter, not exactly sure what white smoke means.

furthermore, the white "smoke" coming from one's car in the cold is called steam, not smoke

My very first PG prototype exhaust was catted and it did smoke. It is rare on catted cars though. The better flowing the cat is the more likely it is to smoke. I had a vibrant race duty cat that flowed like a straight pipe. I dont know who makes the cats cp-e uses but it must not be as free flowing as what i had. Not to say it is bad. Im sure its better than stock and doesnt smoke so hell....
