My dog Rosie & my kitty Samwise were adopted, Samwise is feline leukemia positive and is on immune boosters to keep him healthy. I got him when he was about 8 weeks old and now he is 5. He would have been put to sleep because of the leukemia if we didn't take him in. Shelters basicly concider a cat with feline leukemia to be unadoptable. We only want one cat and we keep him indoors so he was a good fit for us.
Rosie was about 3 when we adopted her, she was very overweight and had recently had a litter. She has epilepsy and has to take daily medication to prevent seizures. She is a great dog and gets along great with our other dog, Stitch. When we first got her I was pretty sick for a couple days and she slept next to the sofa and wouldn't let anyone come bother me unless I told her it was ok. Now she follows my husband everywhere, she is definately a daddy's girl.
