No governement or its policies are perfect or 100% honest. It cracks me up how people complain about these issues as if everything is black and white...

Well it is pretty black and white to me when you are sending my friends over to iraq to fight and die for our country, you had better be 100% sure of what you are doing. Sending them under false pretenses and then changing your tune to liberation later on is pretty unacceptable in my eyes.

Blah blah blah ...

Get real.

I'm sorry to say that I don't know enough about this subject as I'd like. Like most of the public, I only get to hear the headlines on CNN and the local news. Having two members post about something they are passionate about is really helpful to those wanting more information.

I didn't realize the amount of progress that was made in Iraq. The news I hear makes it out to seem there is still no local government or commerce, let alone schools and banks. It's nice to know that progress is being made.

Sorry to say, the list of quotes with the timeline had more impact on me. I also believe the main reason we were told we were going to war was because Iraq was a threat to the US. WMD were being produced and had the capability of reaching the US. In my opinion, the amounts that were found (by news reports) were not enough to go to war. This is my opinion based on the information I have. If more evidence is found, my opinions can change.

The US provided the Middle East with everything they needed. These wars have nothing to do with WMDs. They are all about money and bragging rights. Politics + religion + money = war.

Im gonna throw in my ignorant two cents.

North Korea has a Nuclear Program, however, they have only demonstrated the fact they can launch something over Japan. North Korea will fall to their own devices, I have no doubt about that.

China is and will continue to be a threat in my mind. China has the fastest growing middle class and will start to make A LOT more money. The other thing that concerns me about China is the fact that we outsource most of our manufactering jobs through them, "to save a buck." What happens when their wages get to high to do that? Exploit another country? Great! Less jobs for the people who need it the most, Americans.

The war in Iraq scares me. I have no clue why we are there, so I can't really comment on that. The reason it scares me so much is because it has really shown me that we can't trust our government for proper information. Before everyone gets hyped up, I do believe there needs to be a level of concealment, however, I do believe that if you want me to go fight for my country I need to know why Im taking a bullet in the chest or the head for something/somebody I don't trust.

Again, those are just my ignorant rambles take them for whatever you feel like.

N Korea has openly admitted that they have a nuclear program- Saddam denied it from the beginning. The intelligence reports that stated Iraq were trying to obtain uranium were later found to be false-

I don't know anybody that I can think of who has contended that the Iraqis had nuclear weapons I don't know anybody in any government or any intelligence agency who suggested that the Iraqis had nuclear weapons. That's fact number one.
Donald Rumsfeld June 2003

I seem to remember just before going into Baghdad that the Ministry of Information was saying the body toll on the US would be huge if we entered and hinted at both chemical and nuclear attack.

But hey, that's just me I guess.

That tells me they have something, since North Korea basically made similar claims which you believe.
