Say the MSP came with AWD and a larger turbo, it would put it in the class with the Evo and the WRX, it would be nice to see it up there i think.

just a thought, comments?

i think it would put it in the junkyard unless mazda upgraded the internals.....

Lol good one azian6er. I agree the mazda engine in the protege has never been that strong of a motor for that. Its always been built for economy and the motor is already pushed to the extreems with the msp.

With the power of a larger turbo the internals wouldn't last long. Asumming the psi wouldn't be 6 and would be high enough to compete with evo's and sti's.

id liek to have a bigger turbo indded.. AWD would be nice.. but alot of other things would have to changed to handle that

If my neighbors Chevy Malibu came with a big turbo and AWD I suppose it would be in their class too. As would any entry level sedan. Whats the point?

I think where the Suby and EVOs class is really defined is in their WRC heritage. Not many, if any, cars available in North Ameica can be put in "their class"

Well, when I get my Sport20 drive train I'll have a 4WD MSP.

I can't wait for my friend to get back from Japan so he can tell me how his search is going.

I hate the fact that my car is FWD. AWD or RWD would be nice. Too bad it will never happen.

it could happen acctually, it would be alot of work tho

absolutely, i cannot believe that more car manufacturers ahvent tried to follow in the footsteps of subaru and what it did with the impreza after winning WRC. seems like a recipe for selling tons of cars to me....

And as for the AWD msp.

u sure there is enough room underneath the sedan for a sport20 AWD drivetrain? I was under the impression on the wagons were AWD, especially since lurch, the protege rally driver said there was no room underneath a sedan for the AWD drivetrain which is why he was so looking forward to the 3 which did have room for one

you guys are forgettin the focus rs and even hyundi's entries in wrc....toyota celica all trac, nissan gti-r....been lots of awd turbo cars.....mitsu and subaru were lucky :)

My friend isn't visiting from Japan for another 3 months it looks like, and even after then I have to wait for him to find a wrecked Sport20.

It'll do it some day, just not any time soon.

If it fits under the P5 frame it should make it under the sedan too, the insides seem exactly the same.
