amsoil

Really guys? Do we all have to be so anal and technical about it? 3-5K has been an industry standard for a long time. Yes the manual says 5K, who cares, that wasn't the point of the 3-5k comment? The only reason that I even referenced the 3k in my previous post was because I know several anal retentive people, that don't care what the manual may say about 5k, they get their oil changed around 3k regardless. Also, in my original comments that got this started, I said I was lazy, so, no I wasn't changing my oil every 3k, I was changing around 5K. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter if you changed it at 5k or 3k, because the point remains the same, you are still going to have to change it more going with conventional oil, than with Amsoil fully synthetic, 1 year, or 25,000 mile oil. If you put 20k a year on the 5, if you did change it every 3k, it would be around 6 times you would have to change it a year. If you changed it every 5k like the service manual says, you would be changing it 4 times a year. Not much difference in 4 times or 6 times a year to the person who is lazy and wants to do it least as possible. I think we are really splitting hairs here.
