AMS SMIC or CS SMIC?

it also does not utilize the bottom extension that goes into the rubber support (unlike CS and turbohoses), and thus we had to make a rubber plate so that the SMIC would not rattle against the bumper support beam.

So you had to put a rubber plate behind it or under it ?

FBI, turbohoses specs are off...we've run the test twice as well as byhondspeed and intake temps differed by less than 7 degrees...for weight ours were 7 ounces heavier....when questioned turbohoses would not release data on how they obtained their results citing "research secrets" and other such nonsense....

hey thanks for all the info FBI14. I was too caught up looking at specs and prices (didn't even realize that it was a limited production run).

As for CustomMSP's fans being at an angle, will this hit the intake? I have a AEM intake (which i regret purchasing), and space does look a little tight. Sorry, if this question has been addressed, but the only answers I found were regarding the Injen intake.

My IC works fine with the stock intake and the injen. I haven't sold one to anybody with an AEM so I'm not sure. If anybody has a problem with fitment I'll take care of it for you.

Thanks.

I have the AEM CAI, so I will let you all know.

Why do you regret the purchase of the AEM CAI Ricenudles?

Ummm. Not really, but it pays the bills. End of the month and year end sucks when you work in an accounting world. Especially when its your companies 1st ever year end close.

Any word yet at this early AM if the SMIC is ready for pick up tomorrow morning?

On the AEM CAI, I love mine, got it used off the board (like almost all my parts, I am the second hand parts guy) and it works great.

I just installed my customMSP SMIC yesterday, it took about 1.5 hours, it was quick, easy, and picked up some damn good HP, and psi gains!!!

I'm glad you like it! About how much psi did you gain? Also, reset the ecu if you haven't done so already.
Thanks.

Sweet thanks im going to order mine next week!

Im very excited and sure about this SMIC.

Dont a lot of reading and researching and even asking Custom ?s himself. He's a GREAT guy Ill buy from him any day!

Thanks CustomMSP

i want one. PM sent. i work 7-4 by the way, oh then i go to wait tables 5-whenever, but thats just for extra money to spend on the car.

Unhook the negative (black terminal) from the battery, and step on the brakes about 5 times while the battery is unhook. Reconnect the terminal and your good to go.

custom MSP's sidemount is great.
it's the biggest SMIC out there compared to CS and turbohoses.
customMSP utilized every millimeter of space to fit the largest core.

BUT! but, the size of the IC does not make it a drop-in repplacement.
i've installed SMIC's, FMIC's and hardpipes on several MSP's.
i myself own a CS SMIC so i know it's not my lack of installation knowledge.
when installing CustomMSP SMIC into my friend's MSP we had to bend a piece of subframe that supports the left headlight and goes down to bumper support.
it also does not utilize the bottom extension that goes into the rubber support (unlike CS and turbohoses), and thus we had to make a rubber plate so that the SMIC would not rattle against the bumper support beam.
the fans do not sit flush either, with CS SMIC they do.

my CS dropped right in, took 30 min.
CustomMSP took 4 hours.

all that said i would still get customMSP's SMIC. it is a quality made piece, and is the largest SMIC made.
my friend is very happy with his purchase.
just be prepared to modify your car to make it fit.

hahaha your friend is very happy with the CustomMSP IC indeed. :D thank you for all your help man, again.
all i can say that no matter that it took us 4 hours to install the thing (since we are too smart (bang) for instructions and like to figure s*** out as we go) i would recommend this SMIC to anyone. it is a very high quality product and like Dr.Sound said it utilizes all of the avaliable space.
yeah and one more thing.. you cant beat the price.

I just bought mine!!! IM STOKED!!!! Thanks and im sure ill be 128% happy with it!!!!

Cant wait till i get it though... im like a little boy on christmass with a new bike!!! hehe
