Alternate way to mount the front tags without drilling holes

people have put them in the lower honey combo grill area which looks good to me, I think you have to shave your license plate to make it fit all the way on one side though.

Thanks!
hmm.. yeah that does seem like a good idea..i guess i'll have use some sort of trash tie lol.. or something. it's too late for the back tho, i already put the screws in for the rear tags. oh well

any other ideas?

did the zip ties in the honneycomb here. sits tight bigger thsant the opening. but isnt marking the pait at all fo sittign that ow.

onyl put on because was at a meet with a high possibility of cops. will take it back off!

I don't have my front plate mounted. Well I don't now. If/when I get pulled I'll make up some story about getting hit in a parkinglot and waiting for parts or something.

I dont have my front plates on either, only the rear. I'll make up some story as well.

Easiest way is to take your plate to a vinyl sticker shop and have a sticker made to look like your license plate, then stick it to the car.
no holes keep the real plate in the car and go drive.

Unforntunately for me the ******* dealer decided for me to install a gor damn bracket, so since i have it, i might as well use it.

Hmm.. the vinyl idea is good, but i'm afraid it might leave a paint patch...
I think i'm gonna order the european tags and zip tie them on the honey combs, since you guys are saying that the normal tags are too big...

Mount the extra plate (front plate) in your garage. They look terrible on all cars, I think, and it's best not to be able to be ID'ed so easily from the front while speeding. Or stay legal and mount it up to the car, by any method outlined above.

I've never had a problem from cops due to a silly thing like no front plate, and I've never mounted a front plate on any of my cars. Of course, they probably would cite me for the lack of it if I were ticketed for speeding, but I'd probably lose my license if that happened anyway, so, minor concern compared to getting caught doing 100+ on a public roadway.

the main reason they are cracking down on no front plates here in cali is because of the stop light cameras. Pictures of the front are taken, not the back. So if you don't have a plate, no ticket.

i made up a bracket that bolts to the 2 bottom screw holes and then is bent to go under my lip and bolt to the frame...it works!

i haven't had a front plate for the past two years, no problems. i'd make up some story as well. my mustache has holes in it from the plate but i bought a new mustache with no holes. i'm gonna install it as soon as i feel like removing the bumper. :/

double sided tape would definitely work. so would velcro. there are kits you can buy though that attatch to the lower grill.

yeah, it'd be great if someone could fabricate one so everyone other speed3 owner could use it!!!! (i'm just lazy =))

I have mine mounted in my back seat so if I see a cop I can reach back and toss it up in the dash, lol.

I see several cars out on the road with no front plate so time will tell but its just a fix it ticket so no biggie.

I just got pulled over for not having mine on, and also got a tint ticket as well. CHP officer said they are cracking down hard on tint "non correctable" will be checked so you have to take the tint off and get it inspected by a CHP officer or the court. Reason being : cell phone law, they want to be able to see if you are on your phone.
