Alarm going off randomly

I've searched around and not seen this anywhere...

The factory alarm on our 08 Mazda5 GT has started going off randomly when locking/unlocking/opening/closing doors. It's been a sporadic thing up to now, but today it went crazy. First, the key fob wouldn't lock the car, then when I opened the door to lock it manually, the damn thing starting honking. Hitting unlock would not silence, so I used the key in the door. Quiet.

So then I closed the door and the thing went off again! I instinctively hit unlock on the fob again and this time it worked.

My wife and I just stood there wondering if we should rename the car Christine. I hit the lock on the fob --- and --- click, flash, locked like no big deal. Hit unlock again --- click, flash --- open sesame!

So, I'm thinking the remote battery is going but my wife thinks "it's something bigger"....

could just be a dirty connection somewhere, but given it's an 08, I'll bet its still under warranty. eletrical issues can be a real pain to sort out. I'd get the dealer on it before your warranty runs out!

Howz the voltage on the car battery? Things go screwy when its off. Since its Feb. & you're in ON, I suppose you haven't been raising/lowering the windows, but are they going up/down slower than usual too?
