Alamo1's P5-T Build

Just to clarify, I wasn't trying to say in any way that there was a problem with the new Exhaust system. It is Text Book Awesome. Zero Restriction will provide the best and lowest spool.

I have a major Hard On to see a video of what it sounds like in action..

Alamo - hats off to you for doing this man.

Just for my 2 cents - have you any plans to dyno tune it now, vs the way it used to run? show some plots from a previous tune (with the old setup) and plots on the new setup/tune to show where it starts building boost. Just because someone says it's not a certain way on the internet - doesn't mean it's gold.

It was running a stock protege exhaust. I dont need to dyno my car for the internets.

My god, that thing is loud, a little raspy for my taste, but good work.
Are you running that special turbo that you modified?

No. It was a little big for my setup. I might be hitting 220hp. Probably more like 200. That thing was rated between 280 and 480. I sold it since I won't need that till the motor is built, which isn't in the budget at this moment. Right now it's just the s14 GT2560R running at 8 psi. I'll probably turn up the boost a bit more sometime this summer.

Oh I like that, kinda Subaru-ish. Too bad you'd more than likely get in trouble having it that loud (awesome).

*long overdue sub*

Did some more tuning yesterday and turned up the boost to 9.5~10psi. It feels really good and stays roughly around 12.5 AFR in boost. It's been quite a chore to try to get it to idle STOICH and run between 13 and 14 at cruise. I plan on doing some comparative testing in the next couple weeks. We'll see how it goes.

what are you using to turn up the boost with? I have a turbosmart boost tee and I would like to turn up my boost more than 8, but im getting a spike to 10 first. I wouldnt want 12 psi spikes then settling to to 9-10 psi

I have made my actuator adjustable by cutting the rod, threading it, and using a long nut from home depot. I have to get under the car to do it. I don't trust boost controllers or cheater valves. Mine seems to do well at 10ish. We'll see if it lasts. I may get some cheap dyno time from one of my sponsoree's so I'll leave it here for now.
