BUMP, lets get something going guys. There's about 4-5 of us here that should get together and ride out to the track sometime. also it would be cool to get together and make some pictures.

I'm not sure how far you guys want to drive, but We have Bama Drag, Lassiter Mountain, Steele, and Holiday Beach here. Lassiter is going to open back up in January as a 1/4mile so I'm looking forward to that as Lassiter is the only track I've ever been able to get timeslips at. I'm tired of trying to compare 1/8th mile times with everyone! Also, if you guys have a project and want to get together and all work on it we can. I know "Anarchistchicken" is here near me so we can work out any details in the B'ham area. Send me a PM with some suggestions.

i go to steele, that is if i go to the drag strip. i make it down there a few times per season, but i've never raced on a drag strip, so i would just make an ass out of myself. isnt there like a practice day?

Saturday nights brother. Too bad I live so far away from Steele. I have to pass by there on my way to Tennesse!!

Most of the tracks here all have a "saturday night special". I't s a good way to suppliment your income if you are VERY dialed in.! I've made more than a few hundred on a saturday night with my taurus. A few heads up passes to get dialed in and then a few regular races to keep below my fastest time.

Bama used to have a "$100 to the quickest import" on saturdays. Had to use the stock motor and be street legal with full insurance and tags.....My Taurus was the king for about 3 weeks until my buddy showed up in his WRX with larger turbo and walked me like a dog. Good times in Bama or Lassiter!!

So,... where do you guys race? I'm only familiar with north Alabama. BTW where is Trussville,.... supposedly it's the closest SPEED dealer that I can go to.
I would go meet up with some Mazda guys if I knew any around anywhere.

ok man if you go south on interstate 75 it is about 20 minutes or so north of birmingham. not too hard to find.

not any more...they had a few, but i think they may only have 1 left. Med Center should be called "Dead Center". They never have anything good unless you want a 6 or an RX8.

Trussvile and Med Center are the same dealership. They also own Driversway and someother used car only dealership. Trussville may have some speeds, but why would you want one?? They are dirt cheap now and they aren't holding value for anything. My P5 is worth more than a MSP right now. Make sure you know what you're buying.

Ok,.... so let's plan something for late February or something. I'm transitioning jobs right now and won't be able to travel until at least then. North Alabama is empty as far as I know.
