Akuma Info

I plan on calling Akuma at some point this week to get the info from them but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask you guys as well. My modding is coming to an end this year as I'm running out of things that I want to do, don't want bigger turbo or a downpipe. So for me that leaves tuning and suspension. Taking care of tuning first in september. I'm going to purchase the PTP high-flow internals for the fuel pump and here is what I was wondering.

1. Is it really something that anybody could do with decent mechanical knowledge? (i.e. I installed my FMIC, not that hard I know, but just a reference) I don't even know where the damned thing is.

2. If not, is it something Akuma would be able to do?

3. If I ended up getting a cat-back after the tune, would it mess it up?

4. Lastly, is the starting price of $500 worth it?

Anybody with a modest passel of metric wrenches, a 10 and 18 mm deep socket, E8 reverse Torx socket and a bench vise can do internals in an hour. Follow the multiple how-tos out there on the web, use motor oil to lube, DON'T tighten the cap to a million ft/lbs, (40-50 is plenty) and you'll be fine. PtP's internals come with a pretty good set of instructions that'll look really familiar to anyone whose browsed how-tos on the subject.

If you need help, just ask. The pump itself is just under the top right of the stock intercooler cover, bolted to the rear side of the cylinder head.
