Well this is a problem and a fix type tale.
I just wanted to throw this out there because I had to do a lot of digging to find the info!
My P5 just hit the 162000km mark and I started to get really weird, read jerky, throttle response at very specific revs.
1st at about 2-3k
2nd at 2.5k to 3.5k
It smooths out for the later gears and at higher revs.
After a fair bit of poking around in the engine bay, I noticed a major crack in the airhose from the air filter to the intake manifold. I took some electrical tape and taped up the crack and it solved my issue albeit a very temporary mend.
Now to fix the issue!
Cool all I had to do was replace the hose and I was set! ... ... or not! I found the OEM part number: FP47-13-220A Called around to the usual suspects. No dice. The dealer wanted it's usual extortion money for a couple feet of rubber so that wasn't going to happen.
Looked further into it and there's an after market supplier that does make the part... Dorman. The part number for them was 696-601. This definitely could be a driveway repair however thanks to mother nature we had 6 inches of snow come down today. I needed to get it done asap, so I headed off to my local mechanic, twenty bucks in labour later problem solved.
Our P5's are getting a bit on the well worn side of things and this might be helpful for someone else out there so I thought I'd share!
Anyway feel free to flame away!
