ahhh! CF hood is turning white!

The hood is still fine to get painted oem color, so if you find someone who wants the CF hood for the weight savings and not just the looks like everyone seems to go for, then you're all set.

I <3 my sunlight silver metallic painted Fiber Images hood.

i just did my hood i bought for $150 had the gel coat peeling, so i hit it with 400 grit sand paper for a little bit and then cleared it, look brand new. try sanding it out because that gel coat is pretty thick.

This is a classic example of exactly what I try to explain to ppl. The cause of this "clouding" is due to UV unstable gel coat, there is no clear coat on the hood. With our products we use a special (patent pending) gel coat like product, AND also finish each product with PPG clear coat, resulting in a truely 100% UV stable product.

Unfortantely, there is no way to completely remove the damage to your hood because it is into the gel coat. Sanding, and applying a clear coat can help but some traces of the damage may still be visible and may even return. I'd suggest painting it body color.
so will your guys hoods do this? from what i can tell you are saying is that they won't, which is one of the reasons when i get mine im getting yours

In these you can see where i sanded enough to get the yellow out, but didn't see it until i brought it out into the sun after already clearing it. will be resanding & reclearing it this weekend to get it looking brand new.

^^that looks damn good. did you clear it yourself with rattle can or did you professionaly do it?

had one of my touch-up guys i sell paint to, do it for me. but when i redo it this weekend might try r-m diamont's AM2100 clear, it is clear and hardener in a can, instead of this cut-in clear you can get a the stores.
