Aggressive fitment anyone?!

17x8 +45 235/40/17

not too fond of the bright silver, so I will be having them powder coated as planned. The stance is beautiful though. They do rub as expected so gotta give my rear fenders some more attention to fully clear...or just raise it up a 1/4(**** that!)

how much room you have between rim and strut ?

So there's no way to use 45 profile instead of 40 ?
I really wanted 45 to avoid any damage to rims due to bad roads around here.
How do these tire/rim perform compare to stock ones ?

Ive got BC Coilovers and I have more than half an inch still between the rim and strut

235/45/17 is way too tall a tire to try using lowered. the 40 series isnt bad since its only .11 less sidewall than the 45 series

the stock bridgestones or stock tire size? Ive had 3 different model tires since the stock bridgestones and the Direzza Star Specs out perform those others. BFG Gforce Sport, RT615s) now with extra rubber on the road, even better handling

17x9 +22. I'm going to buy +35s to bring the wheel in just a bit. I could probably fit the +45s

Looks good Zack! I daily drove on my 17x8s for a while and I love the fitment. Back in the day I thought my 7.5s were pretty flush lol

245/40/17. You can't run 9's in the rear but I'm going to run a staggered tire setup, 255/235 on 9/8 widths.

I'm planning to get BC coilovers as well and will have the 17x8 w/ 235x45x17 for dd in summer.

Zack - I meant how do these wider rim/tire perform against stock size.

So , low_psi - by using 48 offset and bringing the rim in a bit more there's some chance that 45 series will fit w/o dropping too much the car ?
I remember you trying 48 offset rims and changed to 45 offset for some reasons ?

45 series tires will provide somewhat more grip to the ground in a high hp FWD, that is the main reason I'm looking at keeping it at 45 profile tire.

wont you mess up the wheel bearing especially in the front with that gigantic wide front rim ?
how is that going to help on the track with that much tire/rim wide size difference from front to rear ?

My 17x7.5's are +48, my 17x8's are +45. The 8's with a +45 have only a few mm of clearance to the rear strut, running a 17x8 +48 with a 235/45 is going to be VERY tight. Only way to know is to try though. Fender clearance is going to be tight too.

I'm not worried about the wheel bearings, the weight of the wheel is still less than a stock wheel. The added width may accelerate the wear, but wheel bearings are cheap. It'll help the understeer of the car and allow me to put power down better. Even with 200whp, I'm getting wheel spin in some corners. With 50whp more once I finish my motor, I'm going to need some help.

my 17x8 235/40/17(front) 225/45/17(rear) track setup made a HUGE change in the understeer on larger road course and almost eliminated it and allowed you to go a lot harder will being in MORE control if you know how to drive... i can only imagine what your sizes will let you do with that car...

good luck! props!

You seem to have tires in your disposal , why not give it a try with 45 profile ?
I'm not planing to lower the car that much then again I might consider pulling somewhat a bit the rear fender for some extra room.

As I thought, even though your running wide tires if they are thin (low profile) then its not much help but combine wide tire with enough/adequate thickness/profile then it will give much better results and thats my goal.

Well right now the 235/40s rub a bit with 250# springs and -.5* camber. You're going to have to cut the lip off the rear fender and camber the wheel in if you want a decent ride height with 235/45. With a +48, since its so close to the strut you'll need lower control arms for the camber change.

noticable difference. The car just feels more stable in a straight line and hugs the curves even more with no noticeable roll at all(ie on rails)

I will get BC coilovers with 7kg springs all around, at least thats what I'm thinking now but might change it later.

I've heard the rear fender are hard to deal with but that will depend if I find someone that can do it.

So -1* camber would make more room in the rear then ? Like I mentioned I will lower it as much as possible but not looking for too much drop since tires will be wider and there's no need to drop the car too much to get more stability.

That sounds like fun then (burnout)

ive got 2 degrees of negative camber in my rear and Im rubbing with my 40s

you are a bit too low though, bring the car a bit higher.

Thats why I'm intereted in 48 offset, there's a rim that I've been keeping an eye on that has 47 offset which will bring the rim/tire a bit more inside.

iv got a 32 offset with A 195 50 on it and i, lowered as much as i can with out taking the sway bar link bracket off on ksports and have a -2 in the rear i rubbed a little then just rolled the inside lip and was fine

Has anyone ever seen a 92-97 626 with a decent setup?

Thoughts on 245/35-16 on the FDs for the Pro? The diameter would be about an .900 of in inch smaller then stock. Kinda worried its not gonna be enough tire. Only other option for a 245 width would be a 45 series tire and they are an inch bigger then stock.

I have 225/50/16 on my FD rims....I had to use 6mm spacers all around so that it does not rub (besides the fenders....lol) I dont think 245/35 will work. The tires will be too big. lol (width wise.
