I chose 5+

thanks for saying I have problems, but not everyone here is 19 (fu)

I'm 24 and have dated a 30 y/o and an 18 y/o within the past 6 months

I chose 5+, but I'm also 36 so that not a big difference any more. I think a better judge is they should be within 10-20% of your age, this keep both of you near the same mental age and will cause less issues with generaltional gap.

All that said my wife is only 1 1/5 years younger than me so we don't deal with any age gap, just cultural gap.(shocked)

I am 45 and my wife is 34. been together ten years. married for 9 of them. I see no problem.

It depends. If you're 22 and she's 17, I'd have a problem with that. I have a 17 year old daughter and if some 22 year old swinging richard started coming around, I'd have to kill him. :o

However, if you're 30 and she's 25, no problem.

Personally, 5+ is ok, but when you're young it seems like a lot. I'm 23 and dating someone 5 yrs older than me would be fine, though I like em older than 21...

I ended up marrying someone 1 year younger than me, though

lol whoa whoa..the dude never even said he is an adult nor said she was a child..check his profile, hes was born in 86...

Anyway bro..Im 20, a sophmore in college and my girlfriend is still a senior in HS..doesnt bother me none at all..Im in love with the girl and shes ******* gorgeous. Anyway, if your 20, I wouldnt go under 18. You probably wouldnt want to anyway, since alot of growing up happens between those two ages. If your 19, go 17.

5+ is my opinion when it comes to the man being the younger of the two. That will even out the maturity levels. My older brothers (40 yrs old now) both married older women. But they were in their mid-late 30's when they met and their wives are now 50 and they get along way better than most 20's dating/married 20's... and they make a sh!tload of money.

said the best!

if you're old and have your way with an extremely younger girl, and it dont work out... that girls dad, brother or new boyfriend might come looking for you. I'd say if the girl is over 25 then it's pretty much all ok. but if the girl is under 20 and you're over 30 - you can expect to get your ass kicked. (glare) unless both people are mature adults, 2 or 3 years is the maximum, imo.

Percentages, you guys have to think in percentages. This hopefully this will solve all problems. Ok here is my system (just thought of it now), this will depend on your personal taste of course but here it is for me.

It works in age brackets:

Age Bracket #1
0-15 yrs old....dating should not occure here

Age Bracket #2
16-17....date someone within 6.25% of age

Age Bracket #3
18-20....date someone within 7.5% of age

Age Bracket #4
21-24....date someone within 14% of age

Age Bracket #5
24-30....date someone within 12.5% of age

Age Bracket #6
31-38....date someone within 13% of age

Age Bracket #7
39-45....date someone within 15.25% of age

Age Bracket #8
46-56....date someone within 15.25% of age

Age Bracket #9
57-67....date someone within 14% of age

Age Bracket #10
68-75....date someone within 12.25% of age

Age Bracket #11
76-86....date someone within 10.5% of age

Age Bracket #12
87-100...date someone within 11.5% of age

^^ where the f#$% did that come from? ^^

needs a little work too, should I be within 14% or 12.5% if I'm 24? btw even at 14%, that's only 3 years, and I'd easily date within 5 years - what is this based on?
