Aftermarket stearing wheel ??'s

Hey, I have an 03 Protege5 and I just got a TenzoR stearing wheel:

I am going to install it with an NRG quick release hub.

I was wondering if I disconnect the driverside airbag if it would cause the passenger side airbag not to work? And if there is a way to get it to work if it does cause this?

Common, I know there are a few of you who have installed an aftermarket steering wheel on there protege.

I have one installed, I just pulled all my airbags! And the light so it does not bug me In theory you can put a resistor on the plug that went to the DR airbag to make your car think it is still their.

Thats an idea. Do you know if that will work for a fact? and that it would alow the passenger side airbag to still work?

I just had a new baby and when she grows up I want to know that it still works. I am fine with not having one but not my passenger.

Ok so I got the new steering wheel on:

So Joka1, what is a resistor and what does it look like? My airbag light keeps blinking on and off while I am driving and I know it will drive me nuts. So your help on this would be much appreciated

Yes I installed it my self. It doesn't look like a quality wheel from the picture but it is. Real leather, hand stitched, and a titanium finish on the metal. These sell for around $250 and I got it brand new for $80shipped, so that was the other great thing about it. I have a carbon fiber ring comming to go with it that will go around the horn button.

Can anyone help with my air bag light issue?? Also does anyone know if my passenger side air bag would still pressently work with the driver side being removed? Really need the answers to these questions so please help!

so does the clock spring have to be removed when installing hub adapter?

About the light, I'm about to install this little device with my Sparco wheel/nrg qr. It's from:

Scroll half way down the page to a thing called...the (worksbell air bag warning light defeat circuit). I hope it works and either way if you do order it, make sure you get the NB 1999-2005. I'll let you know next week if it works.

Update ...the worksbell abs delete resistor from above link, works!!!! I got my Sparco steering wheel on finally. Just thought Id let you know....that way atleast your front passenger has a functional airbag.

Will the steering wheel still look nice smashed into your forehead?

Not to be a buzzkill - but that airbag you disco is meant to save your life in a crash.

When your insurance adjuster sees the missing airbag - they may not pay anything. zip. zero. Think about that. And who would buy a car without the airbag? It won't pass inspection.

Think about it.

get some pictures of that man. did you remove the clock spring?? i did.. i'm not sure i TOTALLY did it all right.. but i'd like to see close ups of other installs.. lmk..

not everyone dds their cars man. you have your opinion which is fine. some people just like different s***. they're taking the risk. doing anything to a car is taking a risk that the adjuster will just not give you s***...

Ya Ill get some pictures soon. BTW its Piranas old wheel...plus I went with NRG wheel hub and quick release. Its pretty sweet!

I have thought about it...I still have all the original stuff safely stored if I choose or need to switch back...and insurance lol! If I crash to the point where the airbags deploy....just shoot me anyway.

Besides 90% of the time I drive a beat up 93 Toyota Tercel....no air bags in that thing.

Anyways...I was responsible enough to research on resistors and solved it...instead of just unpluggin the bulb.

Ya the horn buttons work...had the wheel installed sorry, so Ill find out for you. I know he custom fabricated a piece to make contact...ill get back to you on that.
