see that's not a smart idea because not a single picture of the hood on a speed 3 has been released, so we don't even know what it looks like! The only pictures I've seen is on a speed 6, which the hood is significantly different.
this is what i have been bitching about for months. we have a tmic and NO HOOD SCOOP. It would have been better if the car came with it stock. Good thing mazda realized this and added it to the newest model.
I talked about cutting a hole in the hood and adding a hood scoop and people tell me i'm a ****** idiot. But apparently its not a BAD idea if mazda plans to make that STOCK on the next version of the car.
Eh... Not really feelin that hood
Actually a moonroof isn't put in the speed3 for a reason, body ridgity. I asked about that when I got mine.
that would be dope. i would do that much quicker than any hood replacement.
it's supposed to
i disagree. the stock hood is heavy for a reason. eliminating some of that weight will cause more wheel hop and less traction during acceleration.
fwd car - weight up front to keep the wheels on the ground.
mazda engineered it this way by design, which is why i'd rather have that weight savings up top on the roof to lower the center of gravity and all that.
Exactly.
If you've ever had your MS3's headliner out, you know PRECISELY why a moonroof was not on the options list...![]()
Someone wrote that a moon/sun roof added like 60 pounds. I thought the motivation was structural. But i still miss having oneNo need for me to search, unless there was some sort of revelation in the thread that negates the fact that there are huge structural reinforcements running right across where the moonroof would normally be that would have to be cut out in order to install one.
