aftermarket deck for mazda 6?

hello, i am new to the forums, as well as the mazda world. i am purchasing a new mazda6 this week. it is fully loaded, and i probably won't do anything to it yet, except for a new stereo system. i am looking to put in a new deck, and some nice component speakers.

i was looking at the dash and i don't know if it is possible to install an aftermarket deck. is it possible in any way? if so, can you please show me some pictures? any help is greatly appriciated.

it will be tough. i have a full 3k dollar system sittin on the floor. i went to various stereo shops. no dash kit...no wiring harness.

got quotes to custom a headunit with new center console anywhere from $600-1500..

so to get my full system installed with a decent install. anywhere from 1500-3000 just for install.

head/changer/2 amps/component set kick pannels/3 12"/cap.

i'm putting audio on hold just cuz it's so dificult. if no dash kit or harness by mid spring i'll prolly just sell my audio setup.

it is definetely possible, if a company made a dash kit and harness for it. how much would it cost for a custom dash to fit the head unit into?

panasonic may actually be good for something....

i was talking to someone about this very problem, and the guy told me that panasonic is allready making a replacement piece for the 6 with a spot for a head unit. I can't be totally sure about it, i dont really know him, but who knows. We might be surprised.

hmm, that would be very cool. maybe i'll send a few emails in panasonics direction, and see what i can learn.

Just wait guys! When i first got my MP5 their wasn't anything avalible for it..now look 1.5years and were doing great in the aftermart ....i'm sure the same thing will happen with the 6

Here is another 6 forum i found for you guy..

Th eMazda 6 will prbably take a year to have a dash kit come out. However several manufactures have done similar dashes where everything is one peice and no kit has ever been made so that is also a possibility.

Your best bet and honestly not a bad way to do thing is to not replace the radio at all. Leave it and add component amplifiers. the onyl down side is you can't do on radio sub volume control but other then that nothing is impossible. I would personaly add a nice 5 channel amp and replace the 4 speakers adn add a single 10" sub.

None available I have heard of.
I doubt there will be for a LONG time.

I have heard rumors that Scosche & Metra are supposed to have something out by the end of the year. Tried to call my sales rep @ Metra to get a definitive answer, but he doesn't work there anymore.
