I recently got reffed for my BOV and a breather. cost me over $800. want to try to prevent that from happening again haha. so my question... is there any aftermarket bypass valve that will work with a FMIC kit that is California legal? thanks.

you only got reffed for ur bov and breather and not ur fmic? i think only the stock one is legal :(

i wouldnt see why i fmic would be illegal... it doesnt really disturb emissions... should i just cruise to a ref and ask whats legal and whats not?

you could try that. it was my understanding anything modified on car in cali is illegal minus suspension work. or you could ask a chp or a local pd.

Anything other than stock in Cali is illegal, unless its Cal Approved or whatever it is called. But there is no protege part that I know of that is.

Rediculious!!! I love Cali, but I could never live with such strict laws against mods... How come all the good parts usually come from California, but the people that live there can't even use them???

What the heck? California must suck!

yeah it does :( thats why im gonna register my future fc in arizona (cabpatch)

to the op jsut to clarify i went into a smog station today and asked would he test my car if it had mods on it and he said only if said mods had carb stickers on em. otherwise he wouldnt test it

You could possibly look or try to find one from an EVO-9/10. Since I heard the stock one is prone to leaking I ended up finding a used Turbo Porsche (Bosch) BPV. . .
