If you have Advanced Keyless Entry system, you would need Mazda's computer to add additional key fob so that your car computer can recognize your third key fob with its unique ID. You can only cut a mechanical key blank without the need of Mazda computer but that can only open the door for you, can't start the engine.Does anyone have any experience with after market key fob?... I'm looking to purchase a 3rd key fob.... I'm seeing ones on the internet for as low as$30.... However just wondering if anyone has ever done this?
Thanks....I really have a simple Requirement.. I'm using the feature where when you walk away from the car it automatically locks ( I love that feature) however I find myself in the garage at times needing to open/unlock the car to get something out.... And of course it is locked and the keys are upstairs...... so if I had a third key fob I would put it in a super secret place in my garage that I would only use it to unlock the car..... So do you think the aftermarket might work just for this?
