k i got a problem...well not exactly a problem, just annoying
whenever its humid outside, or raining, and i give gas, as soon as the car gets into boost, it'll stutter all over the place,
thats only when i ease into boost, when i gas it from a stop, itll hit 10 AFR's the whole time...anybody know why it does this?

MAF is relocated to pressure side, and no CAI, just a filter directly off the turbo..
i guess its because humid air doesn't combust as well as dry air? not sure, but i didnt think it would be that bad, car stutters hard as soon as i hit 0 vac/boost

You dont think your MAF might be seeing funny signals from like water or moisture in your pipes because of the rain do you?

Also how long has it been since you changed your plugs?

just put new ones in and gapped them, and if it was in the intake or the IC piping wouldnt the MAF see moisture either way?
not sure, but it could be possible i have some moisture in the pipes

edit: they are iridium plugs though....which is "bad" but they run good any other time, i had just reg copper ones and didnt notice a difference

I have a friend whos car runs like s*** in the rain. And I think it is because his MAF is getting water on it. Actually I would put money on it cause his car runs like s*** when its raining or has rained out side and only when it rains/has rained. But his does it under load not just when 0 vac or boosting.

I still say try the plugs. if the boost is blowing out the spark when the air is more humid, it would do exactly what you're describing, and if thats not the problem, well, its only like... $8.

weird, i run lean in the rain by about 2 AFR, i'm basing it on the fact that the IAT is reading the air temp before the turbo and intercooler. the water across the intercooler cools the air a lot more than in dry weather for the same given ambient air temp . if we could find a direct replacement thread-in IAT to place right before the throttle body i believe the AFC/FTC would be a lot more stable

i guess ill go buy some new plugs today if its still doing it (stopped raining) and let you guys know what the deal is
and i agree, a thread in IAT would be ******* awesome

well i got a GM IAT with my megasquirt and i just saw AEM has a thread in IAT and a posted resistance/temp chart. when i get some time and if i remember this weekend, i'll check the stock one and see what it's at.

there has to be a ford thread in IAT thats the same resistance as ours.

for any of you running 440s and larger, do you run rich while the car is warming up and in open loop? and can this open loop be tuned?

Running lean all the time. When I got to wot it hits a brick wall. Then after a second or so then the continues on it's way. Kinda scary.
