AFC-SplitSecond PSC1 Map Library

I hear what your saying and i'm glad you put it the way you put it because i wouldn't want to blow my engine up, i need to take it for a drive then letting it idle in my drive way to know more then i know about the tune.

Take the time to read ALL instructions and functions of the SS-AFC before you change anything. It's not a complex device, but has the potential to **** up your day if you're not careful of what you do. There are lots of small subtle options and menus that may be tempting to change, but just leave it alone until you're sitting there ready to tune with ALL available instructions on hand, and have a decent general understanding of the device and how changing different variables will change your car.

basically if you plan to street tune you want to probably start with the supermap, and datalog a couple of WOT passes (car fully warmed up obviously), then start making adjustments to the appropriate cells for your full boost run to tweak your fuel map closer to your goal AFR. Once you're pretty happy with that you can start doing part throttle pulls and do the same thing. Eventually you should be able to see a trend and you can start to fill in the gaps.. then suddenly.. you'll have a baseline tune.

After that, I'd leave it on data logging for at least a few days. conditions change.. and you'll probably discover a couple holes in your map where your "trending" didn't give you what you expected... so then you adjust those out... maybe bump your whole tune a notch richer or leaner depending on your safety margin...

thats pretty much the basic street tune procedure, but like hondaeat-r said, you NEED to have a FULL understanding of what numbers are changing what, and why you're doing it, how its going to effect the end result... etc.

=)

Sounds good. Im putting in the wideband and headers in today. Im also going to check out what I have while im in NA mode. Ill also get to see how it works =)

There is already a tune on there from the previous owners with the supercharger. I just want to know everything is ok just incase the tune got deleted or something.

Could I get a base line for what afrs should be ..? like at idle, at wot and partial?

Thanks

Also boost is good....I put the SC in today....=)

idle-14-15AFR
WOT- well as soon as u hit boost the AFR's should be in the 12-11 range
partial- kinda hard to say, in boost, read above, out of boost, should be normal 14-15

I would say the stock tune is probably going to be fine on a boosted car as long as you're in vacuum, because as soon as you get on it, you go into boost. I really don't care what my car runs for AFRs at 5000 RPM at 20% throttle, figure thats maybe 2-5 lbs of vacuum with the turbo partially spooled. an NA car obviously is different because it only goes to 0 lbs so you probably want to start tuning around -3 lbs or so, maybe more? Not sure really, as I've never watched vacuum on an NA car. lol

HKPRO, i assume you have the switched supercharger, so you get the joy of tuning for both conditions, and unfortunately when it comes to the tuning in vac, you're going to have to be pretty conservative, because if you are at part throttle you have to tune for both the supercharger being on, and off, and go with the map that is safer for whichever one ends up being lean. Honestly, I think a more advanced tuning solution than a simple boost vs. RPM would serve you better but I'm sure theres a way to make it work.

Supprisingly the old tune is still on there... I don't have to change anything. =)

I took it around for some "road testing" while out of boost Imy AFRs are normal for na. The when I switch it runs in the low 13s High 12s in full boost. Everything seems like it's working fine. So I'm not going to change any thing.

there is a lot of great info here, but it has gotten too overwhelming to read.

i acquired a 8.5:1 compression engine and i have the AFC v2.
i also have a wide band and relocated maf.

is it difficult to tune for a low compression engine with the AFC?

can i control the idle with it?.

your idle should be the same with 8.5:1
mine is about the same, a little lower, but there is a way to change it using the idle adjustment screw
there is a thread somewhere on here about it

and no, its not difficult at all to tune a low comp, if anything its easier

thats a little high in boost to be safe. you wanna shoot for 11.8 AFR

Could someone print screen a picture of the superstock map? I want to see whats loaded on my afc. I want to compare to see if I have to superstock map or a custom.

Thanks!

Open the R4 software while not connected to the AFC and view the map from the AFC. open another instance of the R4 software and open the superstock map. be better that way than a screen shot

ok well I am very very happy, I FINALLY was able to get a good tune on the car, and it actually ran well all throughout the power band when I set it to 8-8.5psi and at 10psi.. it's sweet, even sounds so much better.. but anyways if you could load this to the first page Wagon that would be sweet, here is the map and my mods
