the better your tune, the less likelyhood of unburnt fuel making it into the exhaust. chances of getting a lean code are slim to none, because that happens from too much fuel.

Ok im going to hop on the laptop today and try and lean it out. Because I have the 440s in there with the stock ecu (P5) and the afc. I might try and go back to the oem injectors and see how they work out if I have problems with the tune.

Thanks guys

Well for now im going back to the stock injectors till I have new orings on the 440 injectors (it was my first time working with injectors...lol) Its sunday and no one has the orings in stock =( I have to wait till wedensday on my day off to get that taken care of.

Once I get the orings and 440s back in im going to try and tune it. Hopefully the stock injectors will work for now.

ya I know, I was just saying that because for some reason I have gotten a too lean code from the backfires, I am guessing it would have to do with.. well I dono, would a misfire do that? I just notice that sometimes when I backfire the wideband blips really lean, like when when I almost hit fuelcut, or do hit fuelcut, but either way when I backfire, or use to backfire it use to get a too lean code, but that might have also been my egr valve screwing s*** up, because once I cleaned that really well, I haven't seen the code, and actually I haven't seen it in a long time, but I just remember that happening sometimes, and it would go away pretty quickly(prob. because I would clear it now that I think about it, but it wouldn't come back right after, so it wasn't an actual problem with the car if that makes sense)

hey Wagon, if you happen to find where the ECU Pin connection for the wires for installing the ssafc, could you post it up on the first page of this thread? or add it to the links? I know it's not the how to thread but since the pics aren't on that thread, and this one is used more, it might just be better, I'm about to install it for my brother's car and I can't find it anywhere so far, I'll keep searching for now, these damn pics keep disappearing

It was easier than I thought it would be. lol Im going to try out the 440 injector map with the supercharger. lol

the only issue with that is how far off your base tune is, because its not expecting boost... but I suppose as long as the MAF readings are close between the P5 and MSP tunes then it shouldn't matter a LOT. if our cars were MAP based it'd be a whole different story.

ya, I just finished installed the rest of the wideband, and ssafc and some other things in my brother's car, just need to finish some other parts up and then I am excited to give one of the 440cc maps with larger turbos on, my brother has a T25 with a T3 compressor (A/R .60 exhaust side) turbo, with a bunch of other mods, everything short of built block lol including a slightly thicker headgasket and upgraded racing cams and pulleys ect... should be interesting to see how much tuning I will have to do

and for my car, tomorrow I finally get my couplers in for the fmic, I will be working all day, but I will finally be able to put it all together and then tune my car with the relocated MAF, I really hope it helps the tuning/richness between shifts...can't wait

So I put my WideBand 02 sensor on my exhaust right before my J-pipe is that cool?
How do I add more fuel to my super stock map?

basically you have to figure out where you want to add fuel based on RPM and boost... open up the R4, start working with it, and then try burning the map to the tuner.

idle is irrelivant, you just want enough fuel to keep the engine turning. no point in adding fuel unless you're under load.

The "over pressure" setting is what 'activates' your tuner. superstock is 1.1psi or something like that, so before you break into that threshold, you're not even using the SSAFC to modify the fuel map. idle, is obviously a LONG way away from that threshold.

not to be a dick, but if you guys don't understand what you're doing AND WHY... you really have no business screwing with your tune.

i understand its just the first time i've been able to do it my self. i was having trouble finding info and i was trying to avoid asking on here so i wouldn't get told i shouldn't be messing with it. but i know what you are saying wagon

I'm not trying to be mean, but the info is here. (I haven't tuned my car (no wideband), but I do have a pretty good idea of how based on reading). And I'd rather be called a dick than have you (speaking to no one in particular) blow up your car because I was nice. LOL
