Yes I know all about the fuel trims. I had to adjust the closed loop section to help the fuel trims get to better level.

you can't really "tune" closed loop with the FTC. the ecu will always learn around it. yes, you can pull or add fuel on the AFC map to cange the MAF voltage and help the ECU but it will change it's trims to run stoich under cruise and idle. you can only effectively tune open loop when you clamp the O2.

if you have a scan tool best thing to do is check your fuel trims and adjust the MAP in the AFC so that after he ecu relearns i the LTFT is near 0

Thanks for the heads up about the prc valve, did not see that in the manual at first. That is something I can ck this weekend.

I know you cannot fully tune closed loop. You can only adjust within the paremeters of the oem ecu to help make the fuel trims closer to 0.

yeah just helpin other peopl out when they read it.

about the PRC valve, it's he same as he VICS and VTCS soleoids. i got a VICS DTC once, checked the resistance on it and it was way out of spec. bought a new one for like $50-70 and solved it.

Yea just went through the checks for it. Seems easy enough. I still need a good fuel pressure tester kit.

ok so I was trying to figure this out in another thread, but realzied it wasn't part of the oil catch can install, so here I am, anyways I installed the 626 mani and all was well for a while, than when I installed the oil catch can, and milena pvc valve, when I have been driving around or starting up,

the car has stalled twice so far, usually doesn't and catches itself, and usually it is only bad idling cold but also it does it warm, the AFRs idling are between 16-17 to -- on the wideband, and in boost it is super rich, I still need to tune it, and up the boost right now with the EBC it is only at 5.5 psi, which got me thinking that it could possibly be the spark plugs starting to coat over with carbon, because I have the NGK colder plugs and only at 5.5 psi, i plan to check the plugs when I get the chance soon, and my next free day, hopefully monday/tuesday I will be able to tune the car some, and at least set the L boost to 8 and H to 10, is what I am planning to do

I don't have any boost leak, vac pressure is good, 20hg and it holds boost well, anyone have any ideas, hopefully things will get better once I tune and up the boost, I know with the 626 mani it will be leaner but is 16-17 afr ok for it in idle?

oh also I forgot to mention that I have noticed back firing a lot more, and even though I have a CAT, it still back fires pretty loudly sometimes, not just the gurgling that I can hear now and then, and it happens when I let off the gas either just slightly, or sometimes when I let it off completely and shift, or just let it off..which made me think of the spark plugs miss firing maybe because of the low boost (back fires are extra fuel that gets ignited right?.. or what). I also had installed a breather in place of the line going to the Injen CAI

is there any way i can find the maps that come preloaded on my split second somewhere? i'd like to start from scratch with like an 8psi map. i recently added a downpipe and gt28 turbo. i have hardpipes and a front mount and exhaust as well. before the dp and turbo upgrade i was running the fmic map. should that still be ok?

alright, i also talked to ken who said he could do it. but yeah i should have the car back for then. plus thats my bday so i'd totally be down to go! how much would you charge?

well, I figured out what my problem was, took a while, but my backfiring was from a melted/collapsed oil catch can line, (bought PVC tubing to fix that) and also the settings on my SS AFC somehow reset itself and were set to additional injector controller, but fixed that, and all good now

Edit: or at least I thought I did, now I think it has to do a little bit with either the bov venting to atm. on hot days, when running it hard allows enough air to be released that it caused it to run a little richer, or possibly a small leak somewhere, maybe due to the 626 mani with the bracket or something? i dono

Installed the walbro fuel pump and it did not help my leaning out issue when at higher rpm and in boost. I guess next to ck the prc and regulator. Any more advice that anyone can give me??

Would the supermap be a good starting point still if I have: Forged, 565cc STi Pinks, Walbro FP, CAI, FMIC and a few other goodies? Or should i try starting with someone's 440cc map and go from there?

This is the same set up i have and the car runs like shiet, cant go past 4k hits fuel cut really bad, does any one out there has maps for people running 565cc's sti pinks?

BUMP.....
