AFC-SplitSecond PSC1 Map Library

ooh ok, so the length does matter, ya I have the right cables but I guess it is too long, it's like 3ft

it's a pain in the ass. iv always hated computer cables. theres so many different types and styles, and of course you never have what you need. and even when u find the right one the cable could be damaged. it's annoying

lol ya, it really sucks that after getting everything installed and you know it works.. but biggest problem that is a pain, is the type/size of cable that you have for the damn connection, I'll have to go to radio shack when I get back home and try a few different ones

V2 Orange wire help!

I was browsing throught this thread and didn't really catch anything on this...

Where do these connect to? doesn't clearly state in the directions!

Orange / black, yellow, white, green...

Also I have a Autometer Wideband and it has blue & blue/black.
What orange wires am I using for this?

Blue = data output [connect to signal input (+) or engine manage system / data acquisition unit]
Blue/Black = data signal ground [connect to signal input (-) on engine manage system or data acquisition unit]

(silly)

Orange wires are input wires for datalogging. I don't know anything about the Autometer widebands but my AEM had two outputs, blue (0-1V) and white (0-5V). I simply connected the white wire from the AEM gauge to one of the orange wires and the AFC and presto! Datalogging capability!

Its the blue wire= data output wire + connects to the afc.

I have the instructions infront of me and it says that the white wire is for the 0-5v output unit (which would be the orange datalogging wires) and the blue wire, which I have capped off in my setup is for a RS-232 com port for an actual direct computer hookup.. hopefully this helps

also I think my orange wire is the one with the black stripe, but I would have to double check, either way any of the orange wires will datalog

So it has 4 orange wires for 4 different "datalogging?"

So i can use any of the 4 orange wires and it dosen't matter which one I pick?

Also, I have

CAI, FMIC w/ relocated MAF, and Catless mid pipe. S & J pipe stock.

So you think that genius' kelly2 map would work for me? Or just leave it stock split second? Or even the super map stock?

heres an email i got from Mark @ splitsecond a while ago when i was asking about hooking the FTC up to the innovate LC1 WBO2

Andrew,

Connect the brown wire from the LC1 to the orange/black wire on the
FTC1. In the R4 software, go to Options and Aux Input Settings. Set
the coefficients for Aux A to a = 7.35 and b = 3.008. You can rename
Aux A to AFR. True AFR will now be displayed in the Real Time - All
screen. It will also be logged whenever you do a data recording.

My brown wire from the Autometer wideband is said to be supposed to plug into a throttle body wire (wide open throttle switch) for WOT peak function... commo? (silly) Which wire is this?

I have 2 wire to be plugged in though. So I need 2 OJ wires?

I'm gonna try to tune my 440's with the lx ecu soon...but now I'm wondering...what if I get the mp3 ecu, how much more timing advance is it?

Any thoughts?

I have the FTC to be able to retard timing.

Hey guys,
I bought a Used SplitSecond FTC.
I am going to install it myself in the next few days. It looks pretty straight foward, is there anything i should look out for?
Also what map should I start with,
Mods in sig

stick with the lx ecu....that is what I've currently got. so your map would be greatly appreciated when i get home from Iraq in august.

So has anyone successfully tuned a P5 ECU yet? I just read through this entire thread (took like 2 hours..) and I noticed that a couple member brought it up but no one actually reported any real success. I called Split Second and they said I'll need bigger injectors.. at which point I'd rather spend the money on a MSP ECU and play it safe with the Supermap instead.

Car is a 01 MP3 and mods are GT25R turbo, 626 IM, Turbolife FMIC, 2.5" j-pipe back exhaust, Injen SRI, AEM Wideband, SS AFC v2, P5 ECU.

u do need bigger injectors or u'll max the MAF voltage and get fuel cut. i was running 440cc injectors on the reg protege ECU pretty good
