Can someone say if I am crazy or not, but I thought I saw a picture once of someone installing this sensor in a hole that is left by removing a bolt on the stock down pipe? I really thought I saw and read this once. If I am right does the sensor screw right in or do you need to do something else?
Thanks.

Pete

On the stock J-Pipe there is a bolt you can remove and install a O2 in.

Wow...I didn't know that, that is a nice little bit of info :)

Now I just need to wait on another GB for wideband kits.

is that too close to the turbo or is it far enough away? im curious cause i wanna install mine :)

i was wondering about that bung myself... i was thinkin it was a wee bit too close to the turbo, no?

yea i mean aem said 36" minimum but i think thats overkill, ive heard at least 18" which sounds ok, plus with turbo the a/f is already mixed after the turbo so it should be accurate anywhere from outlet on, but how far i dont know. my friend has his about 18 inches in his cavalier running a tec 3 (its not a aem wb) so i guess 18" is ok. i think its a heat issue more than an accurate reading thing.

If it is a Bosch LSU sensor, it is recommended to be at least 22" away from the turbbo. They say that because it is not supposed to see exhaust temps of 850c or greater. If you know that you are under 850c where you put it, then you're good. If it see's 850c or greater, it will shorten the life of the sensor. They could not tell me how much shorter, but I think it will be 3/4 to 1/2 of the normal life.

^ hmm, well im sure it is a bosch one. i guess ill have to wait till i do my exhaust and add a bung. thanks.
