Adjustable Mazda 2 Struts/Shocks

I did get a chance to play with the settings being different left to right on the front a few times. Unless is was pretty dramatic of a difference in dampening I wasn't able to come up with an advantage and when I tried it out I was a little over 180lbs.

You guys are all jockeys! I'm not fat but 6'2" and 240lbs. Might need to invest in this.

when you quarter weigh a car, you do it with the driver in. You can make up for the driver a bit by adjusting the height of your coilover, but it's much better to relocate some weight.

It'd be interesting to see if anybody knows what the left/right weight distro is stock. Mazda may have already compensated somewhat for this, probably not intentionally.

I've been considering moving the battery lower and to the passenger side, while going with something lighter, that may be a good solution.

I am down to 165lbs now so this year we will have to add in some ballast to the car to make the minimum weight rules. I will see what information I can get when we weigh it.

With many systems you can adjust spring preload independent of ride height, which is a better solution for corner weighting.

It would be cool to have the battery somewhere at the back of the car to even out the weight distribution.

I plan on taking the lazy route and will replace the stocker with something light. I had an odyssey that weighed about 16 lbs in a wrx with an upgraded stereo (headunit, amp, sub, etc) and it worked great...hopefully something like that will still be around when the time comes.

In the meantime, I strategically placed about 45 lbs of ballast over the rear wheels disguised as baby seats to improve vehicle dynamics.

Ha! I did something similar in the RX-7 with a toolbox and a bunch of spare parts...and lots of oil.

I've given up hatch/trunk space to a battery before, and won't ever want to again. The only place I've seen back there that may work is where the spare is located.

My car stock with half a tank.

At 8lbs per gallon, on empty that would be about 2216 lbs! That is LIGHT!

With one stripped out, caged and a driver is comes it right at that weight too.

Anyone in a warmer climate get a chance to autox on a set yet?

I had ?.. today I was adjusting the rear right shock but the knob keeps twisting. How do I get it to catch again?

On the side of the knob there is a small screw, use an Allen wrench to tighten it up. I had the same problem.
