I said that too. Promised myself and my girlfriend. That didn't even last 2 weeks before I got my first package in the mail!!

Same here, I swore I wouldn't touch the car, not even an intake! Said it to all my friends. Well that didn't last too long. At least I'm still lightly modded but now I'm thinking about the AP and possibly a motor mount......

Once you get used to the power and know that 15-20 more is just a few boltons away, it's hard to resist.

Well after paying for college and now realizing that I actually have money to spend I too became addicted to modding, it hasnt gotten too bad yet but then again I've only had my car less than 4 months. I dont see a cure or an end to it. God help us all...
get more money to buy s*** for our cars

I think in addition to maintaining the warranty, this also sounds like a good idea: to refuse to mod the car before it's paid off!

I told myself that off the bat too, I hardly lasted last 5 weeks before I ordered my mm, sts and bushings. I'm not going to do new manifolds or a dp but its too hard to stay stock.

There are lots of good mods you can do without "voiding your warranty".....don't use that as excuse. Springs and swaybars, STS, mm, CAI or SRI (you can always swap those back to stock before you take it in to the dealer)....

Don't lay that "warranty" stuff on those of us with the addiction.....we don't want to hear it....we are in the middle of our "disease" and LOVE IT!!!@!@!@@!@ (smash)


....and what's up with the guy who said "IF I had a SPD3 I wouldn't void the warranty by doing mods"????? If you don't have a Speed, why are you in this forum??? I'm confused?? (confused)

That happens all the time though, I'm sure we will be saying the same thing in a couple years when mazda brings out something newer and better then throws mazdaspeed logos on it. Damn technology advancing so fast.

Try vegas my friend! $8.00 for a damn 12oz Corona. I'm not sure how much domestics are but i'm sure they are $6-$7 as well.

Gotta love this huge bar in Tempe, AZ called Grahams Central Station, they got happy hour from 5-10pm on Saturdays with 5 cent drinks. Yes thats right a NICKEL! It's 5 cent domestic bottles and 5 cent well/wine. Rum and coke, vodka/oj, gin/tonic or whatever house wine for a nickel for 5hrs. Its kinda ghetto so we hang out there till were all toasted then taxi it to the clubs for the fun times!

I haven't even had my Speed3 for a month yet and it's already in the body shop getting a new hood and roof put on due to someone vandalizing it. As mentioned in previous posts they walked on my hood and roof and caved them in, so a brand new car to me and already requiring a new hood/roof.

I just got my HKS SSQ BOV in the mail about 10 minutes ago, I have no clue with the Cobb SRI, Cobb FMIC and Access Port will be delivered. Those were ordered 2 days ago! As soon as Cobb releases the DP and CBE I'll be putting an orderin for those as well.

Yes the mod bug has also got me, I had a 350z prior that I did minor mods because it's' so expensive to mod those cars, I just lowered it, put a set of Volks on it and did up the stereo and that was it. Now that I have boost I want it to go fast! This car is 1/4 of the price to mod vs the 350z so i feel like a kid with a civic again.

I fully agree, I dont want to hear it.

I did however only plan on rims/tires (had to have winters so I got the summer rims I wanted and swapped rubber) and a CAI. That lead to the Shifter w/bushings cause I just sat in a buddies MS6 with the shifter and had to have it. Then CWPspeed3 got the MM and I loved that in his car so I had to one up it and get a race mount. I have the Redstuff pads in the garage, the sway bars are all but paid for, I just cant decide on the sound of a BPV that I like the most so I havent ordered one yet. TMIC and MAYBE resonator elimination at some point.

There's no escape!
I bet if toasters were interesting enough to mod people would spend big bucks to mod them too

once you start you dont stop. esp if you find a dealer that will still warantee your speed with mods.

just wait until you have a bonus, or sell something big, or just get a lot of money at once in general. i got a bonus from work last year and before i knew it i had spent almost all of it on my car. some of the parts ended up uninstalled and i sold them because i felt bad about spending about $2000 in about 10 different places. gets crazy sometimes.
