Actual MPG with your 2014 Mazda6

You can also set it up so that every time you reset your Trip odometer, the average MPG resets as well. Makes it really easy. After a fill up, just reset the odometer and your average mileage is back to nothing as well. All ready to go.
If only you could do the same with the average speed! I use fuelly.com to record my pathetic mileage, and knowing the average speed for each tankful would be a useful note to add for each entry.

owned car for 7 month, almost 7k miles on the odometer; drive in Los Angeles. these are my typical readings, tried all different approaches, but this is it: 22 city, 33ish highway

Owned the car for 4 months, 5K miles and I get mostly 33.5 mpg mixed highway/city. I have held 36.7 on a highway trip but you must stay below 60.

I hit 6700 miles yesterday. Bought the car May 29. Up until the end of Oct I was averaging 29-31 mpg combined. I do a 40 mile round trip commute (M-F) with maybe 25 or so of that being highway. I averaged about 26/27 of my last three fill ups. Average MPG, as it says on the dashboard, now hovers around 28 when it used to hang out around 30. Don't know if it's my driving but I'm trying to ease up on the gas pedal when I can but I can't get my averages back up to where they were in the beginning.

Might just be the colder weather... warmer temps should help.

i am getting around the same with identical driving conditions, (LA suburb) so i am not alone, lol. If i really granny foot maybe at most 24.5

I'm convinced it is related to LA driving style, constant congestion and overall caffeinated way people drive here. Is Sherman Oaks a suburb? I count is as just "Los Angeles"

I have over 8,000 miles on my 2014 without i-eLoop. I have yet to hit 33MPG (in real numbers, not what the car is telling me). BTW, for a better idea of how this car performs mileage-wise, try the fuelly.com web site. I've been tracking every tankful on it since I bought the vehicle.

We're at about 6500 miles and averaging 28 so far. I have to believe that the mileage is heavily tied to the terrain you drive. Here in the Seattle area we have a fair number of hills on our commute, so I'm a little disappointed so far. We'll see if it gets better when the weather warms up.

2-4 mile trip on break-in oil with steep hills and city driving is about 23mpg. If I feather it nicely down flatter roads from 40-60mph I can get 38-40. Doing my first highway run today!

So help me please. How do you reset the mileage meters.? I tried holding down the "Info" button that scrolls thru the settings but nothing happens. The only reset I can do is the trip odo A and B with the little button that also adjusts the interior lights. I have a 2014 Touring.

After 2K, I don't do much highway driving so that my MPG at 28.8 is pretty good, especially compared to my old 2004 G35X, which was only getting 280 to 300 miles per 20 gal tank! Like someone said earlier, I did not buy the car due to the MPG. I like the steering, features, handling of the car. The brakes are just average though

4000 miles on my M6 GT automatic, with no i-loop: overall average 27mpg (90% city and a heavy foot)

But I averaged 34mpg on my road trip recently from San Francisco (area) to South Lake Tahoe (MRCC set between 70-80 depending on where I was.) There was also some traffic in some spots.

That's pretty good mileage consider the very hilly and winding terrain to Lake Tahoe!

Reset MPG

So help me please. How do you reset the mileage meters.? I tried holding down the "Info" button that scrolls thru the settings but nothing happens. The only reset I can do is the trip odo A and B with the little button that also adjusts the interior lights. I have a 2014 Touring.

Press the center of the INFO button for a few seconds it will reset the AVG MPG if that is displayed. If it doesn't reset see your dealer.

Averaging 32.4 MPG over 24k miles. Winter driving definitely affects the mileage. Cannot wait until spring and summer again to get MPG over 35. Been a long and cold winter so far...

Our mix generally gets us around 30-32MPG. But if we do mostly city I'm getting around 27-28.

Still better than my old 6.

I don't do much highway driving so my overall is 28.5MPG. This is very good after spending almost 10 years with Infiniti G35X! To me, the overall MPG is the only meaningful number because that's what you are spending on gas.

As a new Mazda 6 Atenza diesel owner in Australia, after about 600km (372 miles) of highway driving and 400km (248 miles) of medium city driving I am achieving 6litre/100 km (39MPG)

I drive 100 miles a day with mix city and highway. I have avg 33.7 MPG on winter gas. My old car did better on summer gas blend which should be starting soon so I will see if there is a difference.
