i went to the audiobahn spring break nationals in daytona beach this weekend and saw a lot of cars. most of them had suede inside. i really like the look, feel, smell, the whole deal. i'm wondering where i can get some suede. i haven't really started looking in stores but i can't really find anything on the internet about buying a roll. i want to do the pillers, door panels and headliner and then eventually redo the seats. black with gray inserts and orange stitching. i can do everything except the seats on my own i just need to find some suede. i need gray and black. anyone have any ideas about getting my hands on some

You might want to try a michaels or other type fabric store. A lot of areas have local fabric stores that'll carry bolts of the stuff.

Actually, try to find a discount/closeout fabric store... even synthetic suede can be pricey. It really adds up, especially when doing your headliner (trust me, I just finished mine). I bought 7 yards of red ultrasuede, the headliner takes at least three. And to cover the headliner, when you take it out, consider ripping off the stock fabric. Then you're down to the fibreglass underneath, and although it's not smooth (it will have some left-over fleece on it from the headliner) then you're not adding fabric on top of fabric which adds to the thickness (can be an issue when tucking under weatherstripping and trim pieces).

Oh and make sure you don't spray adhesive too strongly on surfaces, if it's too wet it doesn't adhere well in the long run. Make sure you let it get tacky/somewhat dry first.

I would love to see a HOW-TO on some basic upholstery work like that. I'm really getting sick of my blah grey headliner contrasting with my otherwise black interior. Guess I'll go google it untill i see something here...

Also...Try Jo-Anne Fabrics for your bolt of suede. Much cheaper than going to Micheals

i found a place i can get it for $32 a square yard. gonna get 3 and do the headliner and all the pillers

I've checked most of the fabric stores in my area, and i can't find any suede, or any decent vinyl. I am almost ready to give up. Also where do they sell the vinyl dye. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
