Do any of you use a dashboard accelerometer to check 0-60 times etc? If so, is there a specific make or model that you recommend? I'm not looking to spend big money, but would be willing to spend a few hundred dollars.
does the dashhawk fit into an accelometer grouping?
either way buy a dashhawk. monitors over 100 parameters, including vac/boost. u can data log, see your 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.
its the ebst thing ive bought for my car

Damn, those DashHawks look sweet. But it does WAY more than what I was originally shopping for. I'd still like to own one, but $300 is a little steep for the moment, as I just had to sweet talk the wife into $700+ worth of bold-on mods.
Is there anything else on the market that's _just_ an accelerometer for under $300?
Edit: nevermind, MontegoRx just answered my question.
I should have remembered G-Tech. My brother bought one of those like 10 years ago.
the g thingy may do the minimum that u want, but i would try to convince the wife to get a dashhawk. it can diagnose thrown check engine lights and turn them off. it reads knock retard and LTFT which this car seems to be all over the place with. and does all the things u want and displays everything in real time.
i wouldnt want to start modding this car without a dash hawk. but thats just my 2 pennies..
Thanks ms3action, you make some good points. Maybe I'll just wait a few weeks and then order a Dash Hawk. It would be nice to have for the long term. The wife's a pretty easy sell, she loves our MS6 almost as much as I do.
I don't know if I can muster the patience to wait for a Dash Hawk before bolting on the mods, but we'll see.
I finally ran out of patience waiting for my warranty to expire and ordered a MS CAI, SU test pipe, Forge BPV and AWR rear mount. The anticipation is killing me.
I used to have an old g-tech back in my GTP days and loved it, but I was able to spend a little time with a friends dashhawk in my ms6 and can safely say it really offers more of what a car enthusiast is looking for. The nice thing about the dashhawk is you only need the OBD-II cable to hook it up and don't have to run anything to one of the 12v outlets. If you are still looking for something with accelerometer functions and have an ipod touch or iphone you could look into dynolicious (i think that's what it's called). A couple of the guys in my car club have it on their iphones and it really reminds me of what my old g-tech was able to do.
