Personally I would sell the 8, but if you insist on keeping it, here is what I would do to minimize the speakers interfering with each other and get the best overall sound.

Really its not that "I Insist" on runnng the 8. See, I installed the "Jack Placed Stealth Box" and cut and trimmed the rear interior to make it fit properly. To NOT use it means I would have to replace interior pieces that have been damaged due to the install. So, I am between a rock and a hard place unless I just leave it for looks. Know what I mean?

I with the appropriate cut offs, you should be able to make it sound great. Just be sure to not let it play too high or else it will cause your sound stage to move back.

Never having seen one in person, I wasn`t aware of what the installation required. Set your levels the way we described and it could still work.
The comment Smoke made about not letting the 8 go too high is what I was referring to when I said you would need to experiment with the frequency at which you transition from the 8 to the rear mains. You want it to come up as high as you can without too much effect of pulling the stage behind you. This is where spending a little extra on a good set of separates that can go really low for the fronts really produces results. It is worth it to run the fronts as low as you can, even if it ends up with them overlapping the sub a bit. Anything you can do to pull the stage in front of you and anchor the sound there.
