A week on Fuzion ZRi's

I had AVS ES100's on my Miata and really liked them for the 5,000 miles before I traded in on the MSP. However, a lot of people have told me the ES100's get noisy after 10,k miles. However, I tend to think that has a lot to do with alignment.

I've been quite pleased with the Fuzion ZRi's I bought. I don't think the grip is very good in freezing temps when you first start driving but they break predictably. After they've warmed up from driving, they seem plenty sticky for my needs. When it was warmer, I had a hard time getting them to slide. I think they stick better than stock. I replaced the stock tires at about 20,k.

I have a long drive to work each day and I've found the Fuzion's to be very easy to live with.

so any new news on the zri's grip? how'd it get after a lot of miles? anyone pass the 75% tread left? I had a thread on this some time ago wondering how they were after a while of driving. My parada spec2 have flat spots after I skid for about 50 feet and I need new ones. If I dont get good news for the zri's I will continue with the spec 2's

Just hit 6000 miles on my set of Fuzions. I'm pleased with their performance so far. Not noticing any unusual wear. They are a great daily driver tire. I highly recommend them.

I think the stock RE40's were much better in the twisties though. The Fuzions feel a bit "rolly" in extreme cornering. Most of my driving is Interstate, so it's not a big concern.

I have the Fuzions on and agree the stock RE040's were better in the twisties. Online ratings seem to agree otherwise though as the Fuzions are highly rated. I think the S03's or Azenis are better for the kind of car we have. The Fuzions are good though.

I was looking on tirerack.com and am confused about why the Potenza RE040 have such a low rating in alot of categories but are one of the most expensive tires in the class? The RE750s seems to rate higher than the RE040 in every category but are cheaper. Anyone know why? Those Perelli PZero Nero M&S look nice ...best in its class according to the site.

OE tires are almost always more expensive b/c there are a number of owners who will only replace their tires with what was on there to begin with, or they don't rotate and just replace two, so want a matched set.

I'm looking forward to replacing the 040's, but only once I sell a house and wear this initial set out. hope the house sells QUICK and this set lasts a lo-ong time.
