A question for XM radio users

Where do you guys generally mount your antenna? Does the rear deck work? Or does it have to be outside? And if it's outside then how did you pass the antenna wire to the exterior of the car in a neat manner?

I am waiting for the Delphi Roady to hit the market. For $119 + FM Modulator($50) i think its a good deal.

Thanks
Danny

mine is on my trunk, and works fine there. I suggest avoiding the FM modulator, as that reduces the quality to a radio transmission, rather making the digital quality pointless.

actually, the FM modulator isnt bad at all....honestly, if u put the 2 next to each other and crank it up, u couldnt tell the difference. See. a lot of people think that an FM modulator just sits in a corner and "broadcasts" the music over an FM frequency, so your radio can pick it up.....not true....a modulator plugs in directly to your antenna input of the radio, and uses a bypass for the factory antenna. This allows for a quasi input for your stock HU. Since the radio get the input 10x stronger than any radio station you are receiving, the sound quality is untouched by interferance and such, making it sound like you have it hooked up to AUX ins instead. trust me, i was severly sceptical, until I went to a professional audio store (Sound Advice down here in FL) and they showed me the difference. I have the Alpine system, and it works great.

zcast

interesting. The guy I bought mine from (Circuit City) did not explain that to me. As long as the quality is there, it's good for me

Thanks for the input ZCAST. I was a little leary about the quality of the FM Modulator and I was considering somehow rigging up an aux input. I am happy to hear that the quality is there.
