A little sticky from 1st to 2nd...

I remember seeing a post somewhere concerning this topic, but now I can't find it. I remember them saying something about this being an easy fix (lil' grease maybe), but I'm not a mechanic. I have some knowledge, but I am learning a lot and doing a lot of research to get there. Can someone give me a few more specifics, maybe even a step-by-step? I would like the 1st to 2nd shift be a little smoother, it annoys me when I miss it because it doesn't slide like I want it to.
Thanks for any and all help,

it kinda goes away after you wear it in a little. mine did at least. i'm sure that changing your tranny fluid wouldn't hurt either.

yeah you can also just play with it when you are at a dead stop and just go 12121212 and so on and it will smoothn out... ;)

Do like me and break your shifter fork. Then they do a rebuild on your tranny and that problem is gone... Sorry for joking around but that's how my problem got fixed..

Thanks guys,
I have close to 9000 miles on it and it still seems to be a bit of a problem. I thought that may be enough to get it broken in... I'll try changing the tranny fluid though and see if that helps. Appreciate all of yer help!
:D

Hey I thought mine was the only one that was sticky getting into 2nd. I'm at about 4,000 miles and it doesn't seem to be as bad. I do play with it when I'm stopped (and with an hour and a 1/2 drive to work , I get a lot of time for that). Where can I find out the number of my car? I've seen a few posts that list this info but don't know where it came from. Thanks in advance!

Call 1-800-222-5500 with your vin#- then tell them you want to know the production number on your car.
