Diesels are way delayed.

Yeah I was waiting for a diesel Mazda but I've pretty much given up at this point. It turns out I like the 5 much more than the CX-5 anyway (no one was as surprised as me about this!) and I know we were never getting a diesel 5 in the U.S. so I bought mine while I could take advantage of $4615 in incentives.

A diesel CX-5 still interests me, but I have a sneaking suspicion that if and when we ever get it, it's going to be automatic only, which would make it very hard for me to choose it.

Ah well, one positive about the Skyactiv-D delay is it made my purchase decision a lot easier. If there had been a 2.5 liter CX-5 with a manual or a diesel automatic I would have had tough time choosing. If there was a diesel manual CX-5, I'd have a REALLY tough time choosing, but I'd probably have gone for the CX-5. The combination of a diesel and a manual transmission is just about irresistible for me.
