A/C Went Out, greaattt...

You're jinxed? No issues with my 02 Miata, 09 M3 or 11 M2. Speaking statistically, I'm more than happy you get the anomalies. (boom06)

I understand your line of thinking. I had such a bad experience with one brand twenty years ago that I'll never buy another. Ironically I don't think they've changed and are now owned by an even worse brand that left the US market 30 years ago due to quality issues.

I also seem to be an expert on replacing common failure items on the 1st generation Focus with two in the family. I replaced the 3rd power window actuator on a 2000 model 2 weeks ago. Only one OEM actuator left to go! I've already replaced the plastic thermo housing that cracks around 80k miles, the ignition lock (pain!) and blinker stalk that fails around the same time. A/C systems are a little more intense for my preference.
Lol, ex-wife's power window just went out on her 2002 Focus. She expected me to fix it. Hilarious.

Lol, that definitely made me laugh. Oh, BTW, a quick update about my car. The dealership replaced all the components and I'm good to go there. New A/C compressor and blower/dryer (recharge of freon as well of course). Also, the city finally got back with me :) The electric company accepted liability and my new wheel (OEM), as well as my tire and all the installation costs and such will be covered 100%. I just ordered (4) tires from TireRack. I figured I'd go ahead and get a whole new set. I went with the new Kumho 4X tires. My 2 is my DD so I went with the brand I used almost exclusively on my old Mazda3 (except for a set of Dunlops but don't get me started on those, lol) and plus, the 4X's tread rating was just about the best of all the tires to choose from. $75.00 each was nice as well.

The title pretty much sums it up. My Air Conditioning went on on my 11' Mazda2. I'm only 16,500 miles into the car and a few days ago I noticed the A/C wasn't getting that cold. As the days progressed, so did the failing A/C. I drove my car last night and now there's no cold air whatsoever.

Thank God it's Fall right now and the weather isn't that hot here in Florida. If it was Spring or Summer, I'd be screwed. I have an appointment this Saturday with the dealership. I guess we'll see what happens. Here's hoping for the best right?

Oddly enough though, my 96' Protege had an A/C issue, had to get a re-built compressor. My 05' Mazda3 ALSO had an A/C issue where it would go out and you'd have to turn the A/C off and the re-circulate button off, turn it back on and it was good to go. This would happen once a day, none sometimes and then 3-4 times in a day. I finally get a new Mazda and bam, more A/C issues. One has to laugh at some point.

I think you just blow you ac in a drag race, my 08 mazda3, 08 miata, 09 mazdaspeed3, 10 mazdaspeed3 and 11 mazda2 have no issues and on all of them I was past 20k and some even 40k.... kinda weird

Protege had over 100k on it and I traded my 3 in at 90k. I don't race any of my cars, much less drive them hard. I actually baby them. I always take them to the dealer for everything, bring them in at every service interval, etc. I may pay a bit more this way, but I always know everything will be done right.
