A/C only works in position 1 & 4

03 a/c control unit from salvage yard $40.00 where I just bought my 03 tranny. It's worth a shot anyway.

if you need cheap used mazda parts just call 1800-926-5900 it mazda parts in CA it a huge junk yard just for mazdas, and the dealer took care of my heater /ac unit for free , and i haven;t had any problems, but i think that that the cold air kind of sucks in it and it was just recharged by mazda too..

if yours is an 02 wouldnt it be out of warranty anywayz? unless you bought an extended one which why would u do that on a salvage?

I have no idea if it will be or not. I believe because of the amount of problems with them they will do it anyways. Thats what they did with my 86 323. I had the front of the crank break at the keyway, wich is a very very common problem with them. They replaced it at about 180,000 about 4 yrs ago. OK they didnt do the labor but they gave me the part, which is just as cool. I dont like other people touching my cars, ya know?

exactly! mine does the same on 2 and 3. Not always a bump, just sometimes on for a few then off again.

O well the dealer better not be a dick because of the salvage title. I spent a buttload on nickel and dime parts from them when I put the car back together.

I've got the same BS with mine and it's an 02. First it would blink on and off and now it don't do shiiiit!!

That's it I'm contacting Mazda Recycling and a couple junkyards in my area tomorrow. I'll take the risk and just pick up one from an 03, if it doesn't fix it permanently at least it will for a while.

I used A1 Imports in Austin since they had an 03 tranny, so I just went back to the same guys for my a/c. I'm waiting on my a/c control unit still but the tranny delivered the next day. I'm sure it's because of the holiday.

I have custody of my two little boys and when mamma gets them for her weekend I usually go out to Clearlake or Rice Village with my buddy from Pearland. He is in the middle of a divorce and needed my guidance to show him how to be single and on the prowl again.

you'll prolly see mine and citizenpros msp out there. you should come out with us saturday. we usually go shoot pool and drink it up and sometimes go play with the ricers.

it's the knobs and s*** in your center console
really easy to replace, almost as easy as the stereo, pop the front bezel, disconnect the climate wires on the side, and you can get at it to unscrew and stuff

Also need to diconnect the bicycle brake type cables under either side of the dash to the heater a/c unit itself.

This weekend we are probably going to Fast Eddies for some pool and The Beach House after. You may have seen my red slammed P5 with red strobes in the front parking lights sitting out there.

My #4 position just sh@#t the bed!! Now I only have the #1 and it sucks ass!! Is there any way to take the switches apart and do a temp fix??

Losing my #4 leaving only #1 was what led me to the salvage yard route.

I read the problem is actually with the circuit board inside the unit. You have to somehow remove the cables frome the unit to open it up. I gave up at that point.

I was able to pop out the console at the top from the air vents about 1/4" which changed the pressure on the cables to the unit enough to work for a little while. Gave me back #3 and #4 for about a month.
