97 Miata with a radio issue

My radio stopped making any sounds the other day. It turns on but will not play a CD let alone give me any sound through the speakers. Any suggestions as to where to look first would be very much appreciated.

All righty then! I guess there aren't any "radio heads" out there with the anwer to my problem. Oh well, maybe someone will at least pretend to know what I should check and let me know. Everyone have a super Sunday!

check fuses, ground wire, its probibly old and dead. just replace it

Thanks blkspdfreak, but just where is that particular wire located? So glad someone finally responded, especially because I don't have the $ to go to a pro.......yet!

i dont own a miata, i would just pull the radio out and look for "burnt" looking wires, or look on the fuse panel for the radio slot, check the fuse, and follow the wires from the back of the fuse pannel to the back of the radio. do you have a test light or volt tester?

OK, but would the dial and channels be displayed IF there was a blown fuse?
