92!!

Ok, I know it's not great, but for my first 18 hole of golf out this year I shot an honest 92. Felt great, even though we got paired up with Bill the wonder slug of golf. If you think Sergio "waggles" too much, try playing with someone who spends 2 minutes preparing for EVERY shot. No joke, and half of them went no more than 50 yards. It was really annoying. If I knew the guy, I would have been throwing stuff at him, but I was nice because I didn't know him.
The other guy, for some reason, was playing Callaway balls. He was much worse than I am, and lost a ton of them. At $46/dozen, he was way out of his league.
Anyway, just had to share. Anyone else get out lately?

Hey, 92 isn't bad. It's about what I shoot regularly but I've been playing since I've been 13. My best ever was an 83. I have an uncle that I play with sometimes that just crushes me everytime with scores like 74, 76, 75. He's damn good.

Nope...I prefer obstacle golf myself...And at obstacle golf, a 92 is pretty sad. If you don't bust 300 you need practice.

if I be playing golf...its PUTT PUTT!! down here in texas its just insane to get out in the heat to wack some golfs....there is a course that I pass on the way to work everyday....and there are so few trees on it that you can nearly see every pin, while you stand in one place on the road.....needless to say...NO SHADE!!! screw that!! I personally believe that if you go out there on a summer day....you should have every right to round up every nutcase you can find on the course and lock them up....they are OBVIOUSLY certifiably NUTS!! lol

I'm still playing a lot of golf this year. My clubs aren't exactly top of the line...just picked up a pretty inexpensive set for about $300 bucks. What was cool was I was at the driving range the other day and my buddy borrowed his brother's(who golfs a ton) Ping driver and it was SWEET! I couldn't believe how much further I could drive it with that oversized head.

So now I'm tempted to go out and buy a Big Bertha or one of those other big bad drivers...only problem is that they are pretty expensive so I think I may hold off till next year.

As for this year, I've really improved. For the most part I keep it on the fairway and score bogeys, double bogeys and the occassional Par....sometimes tho I'll just have a "breakdown" hole it seems where my entire game just goes to s*** and I score like 3 or 4 over par...those holes suck, but fortunately they are happening less and less.

A bogey on every hole is an even 90, that's damn good in anyone's book. If I could only get a bogey on everyhole that would be nice. I have a big Bertha driver. I used to be able to crush drives, but I quit playing for like 3 years, an now I don't even take the driver out of the bag. I use the 3 iron now because I cant keep the driver in the fairway.

As for clubs, I bought an old set from a co-worker that plays semi pro for $100 2 years ago. They're not the best, they're Kunaans(sp?), but they work well for me. My drivers were $5 each. I have an 8degree oversized head Alien and a 17degree alien. Cheap? Yes. Functional? Yes. I outdrive my buddies with the $200-300 drivers on a regular basis. I'm sure I could do better with better equipment, but if I can stay around 90 with cheap clubs, I see no need to spend a bunch of money when I'm already doing decent.
Sometimes being cheap works. :)
Oh, and I got a sweet birdie on a 330 yard uphill par 4. That felt good. :)

My irons are Ping Zing 2 look alikes. They are great. I reccomend getting look alikes until you shoot in the high 80's and low 90's everytime you go play. I have played with both mine and real Pings and I can barely tell a difference. Maybe a pro could tell a bigger difference but not me. My look alikes cost like $250 for the irons.

come play in arizona...during the summer it's only $30 for some of the resorts...of course it is 117 degrees outside...lol...our courses here are actually desert...it's like one BIG sandtrap...but during the winter it's perfecto

Yeah winter play just doesn't work out too well here in the Peg....a white ball landing in 3 feet of white snow isn't the best conditions. :D

I've played in AZ before. It was like 5 minutes from the border. I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca. It gets hot as hell there. The hottest it got when I was there was like 124 deg. You couldn't even go outside it was so unbearable. It was like you couldn't breathe. And I'm from south Alabama, so it's not ike I'm not used to 100+ deg. heat and humidity. It is dry as a bone in AZ! Chapped lips and dry skin!

hmmm wonder if the golfers there use kevlar or asbostes covered golf balls....just so the jackets don't melt on the ground.

:{D

My lowest score ever was...

a 41. You read me right, thirteen birds, no bogeys. Of course, it was at my "home links", so I'm pretty used to the lay of the land. I've had around a dozen aces there, three on one hole. Granted, it's taken me five years, but not too shabby.

I usually drive with a Discraft XL or Z-Reaper, do my approaches with Sharks or MRXs, and have been experimenting with a Hi-flex Elite putter. I use Panthers for the right hooks, but I go through those fast, because they're waxy. I am proudest of how much my game has turned inside out over the last year, but it's a big adjustment. I now drive anywhere from 310 to 450 on a good day. Now if I could only get my 40 ft. putts down...

92 is great! Greg's lucky if he breaks 100 once a year! lol:D

The first time I saw Serg "preparing" I said "this guy's just kidding, right?" lol!!

O ye of little faith...

I was serious, but then again, those results are from DiscGolf. You should try it sometime. Find a course near you at www.pdga.com. Discs are cheap, and admission to the course is often free!

A preacher known for his thriftiness decided to paint the church when he saw white paint on a one-day sale at the hardware store. He bought one gallon and started painting but after the front was done he realized he didn't have anywhere near enough paint for the other three sides. He didn't want to buy three more gallons, even on sale, so he used some thinner and thinned the paint to the point that he could cover the whole outside of his little church. That night, a torrential rainstorm came and washed the paint right off the building. When the preacher awoke, he was heartbroken at the results of his labor and shouted, "Now what should I do?"

A voice came from above and said,

"Repaint, and thin no more!"

And this concludes today's spiritual moment.
